I started working in the Travel Industry in 1995. I got the bug and am still here over 20 years later. I remember being a young girl and going into Travel Agents and picking up glossy brochures. I used to take them home and spend hours filling in the old style booking forms at the back of the brochure, so maybe it was always in me to do this job! I have worked for many of the large UK Tour Operators and UK Airlines during my time in the industry, from being a shop based travel agent, to being a Flight Attendant, and eventually going on to live in Greece (Kefalonia) and making sure my customers there had a fantastic holiday! I have now come complete circle and have come back to helping people finding their dream holiday. I spend 50% of my time in Greece and 50% of my time in the UK. I love the Greek history and culture and am learning the Greek language, which is not the easiest thing to do, but I am persevering. I think the one thing connecting all of my ‘travel’ experiences is the people I meet along the way, particularly my customers, many of whom I have met along the way and have become not just customers but good friends. I enjoy building a good rapport and getting to know my customers as this really helps in the search for the ‘right’ holiday!
Aside from Greece, my next favorite place on my travel list has to be New York, closely followed by Cuba. I love the hustle and bustle of the city that never sleeps, and am desperate to return to see all of the sights that I have not managed to see - including the Statue of Liberty! Cuba is just idyllic. I loved the contrast between the peaceful laid back beach resorts and the amazing architecture of Havana - it is a must see!
I have a little girl who my world now revolves around, and being a single working Mum juggling a life between the UK and Greece definitely has its challenges, but we make it work and she has an amazing life out here, she even speaks a bit of Greek to the locals which they find really entertaining! I keep myself busy with my work, blogging and running, and don’t have time for much else at the moment. Finding my clients their dream holiday at incredible prices really is my passion, and soon I hope to be able to do that for you, and look forward to becoming Your Personal Travel Advisor.
