“Navigating alone, elderly parents care is a difficult one and Helping Hands felt like a life raft.

On our first meeting, Naomi listened, was caring and incredibly helpful. Since then, any chances I’ve needed to make my mums care plan as her become greater has been so easy to arrange.

Emails are acknowledged quickly, and changes are immediate. My mum’s carer will contact me with any concerns or information and liaise with the district nurse team which helps me out enormously. I am able to check my mum’s visits on a portal which show me what has happened that day and how my mum is.

Having been at the house during visits, I cannot stress enough how wonderful, kind caring and professional the carers are. They are absolute angels and I know the care my mum receives allows her to be safe and content in her own home. This is priceless.

“Helping Hands is exactly what is says. My mum, whose 85, was unable to get herself out to her local club to play bingo as she must cross a busy road. Even though the club is literally over the road she became housebound especially if the weather was windy, for the fear of begin blown over.

Helping Hands have given my mum her life back by taking her there and brining her back safely, other days they take her for a walk. They will do anything she asks of them, from making her a cup of tea to rubbing ointment on her aching back.

I live away so Helping Hands gives me great peace of mind that Mum can get to her beloved bingo and know that the small team of 4 that visit her are kind, reliable but most of all caring towards Mum.

"I felt very honoured to attend the garden party at Inspired Villages, Millfield Green, alongside the special guest, John Torode. It was a privilege to support the team and share what Helping Hands can do to support customers in the village and surrounding areas.

Lisa, the regular carer, was lovely and welcoming, clearly beloved within the community. The event was a fantastic opportunity to share our dedication to helping customers maintain independence in their own homes. The village itself was stunning, the staff were wonderful, and the service was exceptional. It was a day to remember."

I have parents in their nineties and following a stay in hospital between Christmas and New Year due to a lung condition and heart attack, my father was sent home with a catheter in place. We did not have any training on what and how to use the contraption and learnt what to do via the internet.

My father ended up back in hospital as the catheter was causing him to bleed internally. I came across my local branch of Helping Hands on a visit to the local pharmacy and realising my mother would need help when my father came home from hospital, I called into the office.

The staff were so friendly and helpful, and my father now is visited weekly to assist with bathing. I am sure the visits will increase with time but for now we are very pleased with the excellent service. Thank you, Julie.”
