Seafari Fans!
We are so happy to share with you all that we have been awarded Trip Advisor Best of the Best 2023 award for the second year running! None of this would of been possible with out all of our amazing guests over the last four years - so thank you so much! 🙏

The wildlife this season in The Sound of Raasay has exceeded all of our expectations!! We’ve had Orcas, Humpback Whales, Minke Whales, Basking Sharks and lots and lots of Dolphins of all species. It’s been such a privilege to see these wild animals in their own natural environment & we can’t wait to see what the next few weeks hold as the season comes to a close! Thank you so much 🍊🚤🐬🐳🌊

Some more wonderful pictures of another one of our Humpback friends ‘Scream,’ who we had swimming with us recently! Our guests as well as crew were treated to one of the most incredible sightings we’ve had since the beginning of Skye Seafari Experience!!! A MASSIVE thank you to Steve Truluck At Sea / Hebridean Whale Cruises, Gairloch for managing to capture these lucky shots of us! Check them out! 🙏

Tail slapping, fin slapping & breaching out of the water numerous times, it was activity we have never seen all at once before during a whale sighting. Maybe a method for removing the harsh barnacles the marine environment brings for humpback whales! Some detailed photos show just how harsh they can be! 🐋

Steve, at the moment, is travelling around the west coast of Scotland in search of the West Coast Killer Whales - ‘John Coe & Aquarius,’ while filming a fantastic documentary about them. It’s a brilliant project he’s involved with & hopefully he sees them soon. We’re excited to see the outcome! 🎥

We still have incredible amounts of wildlife activity in the Sound of Raasay & enjoying regular trips over to the Isle of Raasay too as September brings some warm weather! ☀️

On our Wildlife Seafari this afternoon & we went south around the Isle of Raasay. Our luck was in as we we were slowly escorted through the Raasay Narrows by a pod of playful Common Dolphins!

Diving under the boat & swimming around us, a great experience for all aboard Jurassic Skye. A quick stop in Raasay Harbour before the turn home! 🐬

What an incredible experience today!! Heading up the Sound of Raasay on our Kilt Rock Seafari, we were joined by these two enormous Bull Orca - John Coe & Aquarius!!! The last two remaining Orca of the West Coast Killer Whale Community & they really are pair of celebrities around our coasts!

A first for all aboard Jurassic Explorer today & a perfect start to any week! 🌊🐳🐬

While sat in the Sound of Raasay this afternoon, waiting patiently for 2 West Coast resident Bull Orca (John Coe & Aquarius) - this friendly Humpback Whale popped up to say hello! So, so lucky!!!

A once in a lifetime experience for all aboard! 🐬🐳🌊

The month of June saw the return of our KILT ROCK WHALE & DOLPHIN SEAFARI and they haven’t disappointed! The colours & scenery out on the water have been breathtaking & the wildlife has been there to match.

So far this year we’ve had - Puffins, Minke Whales, Common Dolphins, Bottlenose Dolphins, Risso’s Dolphins, Golden Eagles, Sea Eagles, Grey Seals & Common Seals.

Skye Seafari Experience are looking for individuals for the following roles this coming season (2023)

🍦🎟 Shop Assistants, Ticket Office / Shorebased Personnel.

Roles and responsibilities include serving ice cream, teas & coffees, operating till systems & cash handling.

You will also be required to assist in ticket sales and bookings from the ticket office along with providing passengers of boat trips with life jackets and all weather suits.

We offer flexible shift patterns for each of our vacancies, along with excellent rates of pay.

Skye Seafari Experience is looking for skippers & crew for the remainder of the 2022 season.
Applicants of skipper should hold a minimum of:

⚓️ RYA Yachtmaster/Advanced Powerboat
(commercially endorsed 12+2)
⚓️ Sea Survival (RYA/STCW)
⚓️ First aid (RYA/STCW)
⚓️ ML5 or ENG1 Seafarers Medical

Skippers responsibilities include:

* Daily/weekly/monthly safety & maintenance checks carried out using corresponding checklists.
* The safety and comfort of all passengers & crew will be number one priority
* Assisting in re-fuelling vessels
* Assisting in general maintenance and servicing

Position is advertised on a short term basis
