Lovely walk straight from the door of Two The Lodge

From the pretty village of Litton, this 8-mile circular walk takes you around four of the Derbyshire Dales! It’s mostly a low-level walk, with good paths so it’s a great route and there’s plenty of wildlife and nature to spot along the way.

Glowing in the early morning light, this is the little hamlet of Miller's Dale, nestled alongside the River Wye and surrounded on all sides by high limestone hills. The water rushed and bubbled through the valley and birds sang out from the trees, but otherwise all was perfectly peaceful as the day began in this little slice of the Peak District.

Although Chatsworth House and Gardens are now closed, the 1,000 acres of beautiful parkland offers the perfect place for a winter walk - and all Chatsworth car parks are now free to use until 14 March.
