🇦🇺🇦🇺 Australia 🇦🇺🇦🇺

🗻1. The Australian Alps get more snow than the Swiss Alps
While many people visit Australia for its brilliant beaches and year-round sunshine, the Australian Alps, straddling New South Wales and Victoria, are a mecca for skiing enthusiasts. Snow usually falls between June and September, meaning Australia is the perfect place to get your skiing fix during the northern hemisphere summer.

🌊2. 90% of Australians live on the coast
The large deserts of central Australia mean that the vast majority of the population live on the shores of this enormous country. The large cities of Perth, Sydney and Melbourne are iconic places to visit, with buzzing centres and a multitude of beaches, from the sands of Bondi to the surf of Trigg. Outside of the major hubs, there are hundreds of smaller beach towns where you can appreciate Australia's beautiful coastline.

💨3. Tasmania has the cleanest air in the world
The island of Tasmania is the ideal spot to experience the great outdoors - with air as clean as Antarctica, around one-third of the state is a national park or World Heritage protected. It is a walkers paradise, with trails and walkways winding over the whole island, where the coastal paths reveal impressive views over Wineglass Bay and the Bay of Fires.

🐠4. The Great Barrier Reef is the largest eco-system in the world
The Great Barrier Reef is the pride and joy of Australia, made up of nearly 2,500 individual reefs and visible from space. It stretched halfway down the eastern coast of the country, meaning there are plenty of places to use as jumping-off points to explore the kaleidoscopic coral.

🍷5. Australia has over 60 separate wine regions
You can't go to Australia and not try the wine! With such a huge variety of wine regions, it's hard to choose between them. The majority of the wine regions are in New South Wales and Victoria so if you fancy discovering a few of them a road trip between Sydney and Melbourne would be a great way to go about it.

⛵️6. Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world
The sandy shores of Fraser Island are a highlight of any trip to Queensland. Hervey Bay is the jumping-off point for exploring the island, so hop on a boat and discover the delights of this island paradise - the clear blue waters of Lake MacKenzie surrounded by the white sand shore and the serenity of Champagne Pools, where you can swim in the shallow pools at the edge of the ocean. There are 150 dingoes on the island so it is a great opportunity to spot one of Australia's famous wild dogs but keep your distance as they are wild animals and can be aggressive if approached.

🛤7. Indian Pacific train has the longest straight section of train track in the world
Australia boasts a number of spectacular rail journeys Between Sydney and Perth lies the Indian Pacific, the railway that snakes its way across the country through the stunning Blue Mountains into the outback towards the mountainous Flinders Ranges.

🛣8. The Great Ocean Road is the world’s largest war memorial
The Great Ocean Road is one of the most famous drives in Australia with stunning views and scenic vistas along the route. Built by returning soldiers after World War One, the road was dedicated as a memorial to those who died fighting and was designed to connect the isolated communities that clung to the edge of Victoria's rugged coastline.

🐨9. 80% of the animals are unique to Australia
The animals of Australia are some of the most interesting in the world, from cuddly marsupials to a huge variety of birds. There are so many opportunities to experience the wildlife of the country, from zoos and parks to spotting these unique creatures in the wild.

🪨10. 2.5 km of Uluru is underground
The vast rock of Uluru sits in the red centre of Australia, surrounded by scrubland and sacred to various Aboriginal tribes in the area. It is one of the few places on the earth to be listed twice as a UNESCO World Heritage site, both on the cultural and natural lists. Amazingly around 2.5km of the rock is thought to be underground connected to the Olgas, where the rock emerges again 16 miles away.

The Komodo dragon, also known as the Komodo monitor, is a member of the monitor lizard family Varanidae that is endemic to the Indonesian islands of Komodo, Rinca, Flores, and Gili Motang.

1. Indonesia has a lot of people!
It’s an understatement to say Indonesia has a lot of people. With a population of over 264 million, Indonesia ranks fourth as the most densely populated nation in the world following sizeable countries such as China, the United States and India.

2. Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world
With five major islands and thousands of smaller islands situated between the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world! Officially, there are over 17,500 islands that comprise Indonesia, but only 6000 of those islands are inhabited.

3. There are 100 active volcanoes in Indonesia
Most Indonesian islands are littered along a volcanic belt and its proximity to the Pacific Ring of Fire exposes the area to frequent earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. Indonesia is mountainous, with its highest peak reaching 4000 metres above sea level. There are around 400 volcanoes in Indonesia and 100 of those are active!

4. Indonesians love social media!
Like other nascent cities in the region, social media and technology is quickly transforming the way citizens interact with each other and the world. Indonesia is one of the largest social media markets in the world, with over 800 per cent of the population accessing platforms like YouTube, Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter.

5. Indonesia has over 600 ethnic groups
Not only is Indonesia a large landmass but the country is incredibly diverse. Although the Javanese people make up 40 per cent of the population, there are over 600 ethnic groups and subgroups across Indonesia. Some of these groups include Sundanese natives in Western Java, Batak people in North Sumatra, Sulawesi people and more! There are an astounding 300 local languages and over 500 dialects spoken

This beautiful award winning property is only a ten-minute drive from the cobbled streets of Polperro and the bustling harbour town of Looe, this studio apartment is a countryside hideaway. Part of a converted hotel, the home is set in the rolling fields of Cornwall. We love to run an evening bath in the outdoor tub and watch the sunset over the hills. The small plot is great for a solo stay or romantic retreat – with a comfy king-size bed and small kitchenette to cook up light meals and breakfasts. The hosts are particularly attentive and bursting with recommendations and helpful tips. Lace up your walking boots: there are paths to explore on the four acres of land the home is set on, or drive to the nearby South West Coast Path for tramps over coastal cliffs. On sunny days, it's a quick journey to Cornwall's most beautiful beaches. We love Lantic Bay, a sheltered cove that's only accessible by foot, for a sense of privacy. For dinner, it's best to head out and make the most of the abundance of seafood in this region.

🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰Sri Lanka🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰🇱🇰

Just located southeast of India, Sri Lanka is a hidden gem of the Indian Ocean. Beyond its ancient ruins, beautiful beaches, and amazing wildlife, the island nation has many other stories to uncover. From the Pearl of Indian ocean to the world's oldest human-planted tree, here are 15 facts you might not know about Sri Lanka to offer you a glimpse of the intriguing local history and culture.

1. It is nicknamed Pearl of the Indian Ocean and teardrop of India
Sri Lanka is known for these two lovely names. Pearl of the Indian Ocean is given to this small island nation probably due to its incredible natural beauty, extraordinary biodiversity as well as its precious gemstones. Besides, the island has a teardrop shape and is off the coast of India, which is easier to see from the map. That’s why it is also called teardrop of India. Below is a Google map snapshot of Sri Lanka to give you an idea of its location and shape.

2. It's packed with a large variety of animals
Sri Lanka only covers an area of 25,332 mi², which is just slightly larger than the US state of West Virginia. However, its wildlife is incredibly diverse. It's home to 123 species of mammals (such as elephants, leopards, and crocodiles), 227 species of birds, 178 species of reptiles, 122 species of amphibians, and many other animal species.

3. Tea is a big business in Sri Lanka
If you're a tea drinker, your cuppa may come from Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon, a name synonymous with tea. Brought from China in 1824 by the British, the first tea plant on the island was displayed in the Royal Botanical Gardens outside Kandy and has grown into a huge business. This teardrop island nation is still a leading tea producer and exporter, with over 1 million of its 22 million people working for the tea industry.

4. It is home of cinnamon
Apart from being a large tea producer, Sri Lanka is famous for its cinnamon, an indispensable ingredient for many of its fabulous food. It is said to have originated from the teardrop nation and first found by the Egyptians in 2000 BC. Today, Sri Lanka is still a leading exporter of the world's cinnamon.

5. You'll think of England in the town of Nuwara Eliya
Nuwara Eliya, a British-built town located in the hill country, is known for its temperate, cool climate. It used to be the favorite holiday retreat for the British elite. It is "where they go to be cold and damp and imagine they're in England", according to John Gimlette, a British travel writer. You can visit its colonial-style houses and hotels to feel as if you were in 19th-century England.

6. Adam's Peak is the most sacred mountain in the country
Perched in the picturesque area of the southern Hill Country, this holy peak has been a mecca for people of various beliefs in Sri Lanka for over a thousand years. In Buddhism, the peak is known as Sri Pada, meaning sacred footprint, and is believed to have been left by the Buddha when he was going to paradise. For Hindus, it is Lord Shiva's footprint. When asking Christians and Muslims, they would say it is the footprint of Adam as he was banished from the Garden of Eden.

7. Sri Lanka gave "serendipity" to the English language
Did you know that "serendipity", one of Briton's favorite word, is derived from "Serendip", the old name of Sri Lanka called by the Arabs and Persians? The word, invented by the English writer Horace Walpole in 1754, was based on the word on the title of a Persian fairy tale, The Three Princes of Serendip, in which the princes "were always making discoveries, by accidents and sagacity, of things they were not in quest of." With unspoiled beaches, timeless ruins, incredible wildlife, and stunning landscapes, Sri Lanka is called the land of serendipity for a good reason.

8. The Sri Lankan national flag is one of the oldest in the world
The Flag of Sri Lanka, also known as Lion Flag, is considered one of the world's oldest, dating back to 162 BC. It is also thought to be the only flag in the world to recognize different religious beliefs, with the bo leaves representing Buddhism, orange standing for Hinduism, and green for Islam.

9. One of Buddha's Teeth is housed in a temple in Kandy
A sacred tooth relic of Lord Buddha, brought from India in the 4th century CE, is still preserved in the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy. Every summer, there's a grand festival known as Esala Perahera (Festival of the Tooth)

10. It is the first country in the world to have a female prime minister
In July 1960, Sirimavo Bandaranaike, the leader of Sri Lanka Freedom Party, won the victory in the general election and became the first woman prime minister in the world. She served the country for three terms before she resigned in August 2000 because of failing health. At the age of 84, Sirimavo Bandaranaike died of heart attack in the same year after her vote in the parliamentary elections.

🌏🌏🌏🌏🇯🇴Jordan🇯🇴🌏🌏🌏🌏

🌊1. Jordan Is Home To The Dead Sea

⬇️2. The Dead Sea Is The Lowest Point On Earth

This is an amazing fact about Jordan. Yes, the Dead Sea is really, really low altitude. It’s actually so low that the shores around the lake account for the lowest point of elevation on the planet, at 480 meters below sea level. The bottom of the lake is 728 meters below sea level.

⛱3. Jordan’s Only Real Shoreline Is The Red Sea

Rhyming with the Dead Sea, which is actually a lake, the Red Sea is Jordan’s only true shoreline. And it’s a short one at that – only 16 miles long. It’s otherwise pretty landlocked. However, the town of Aqaba on the Red Sea coast offers up some prime diving among colorful reefs that makes up for the lack of long coastal retreats.

💥4. In 363 AD, Jordan Experienced A Huge Earthquake

A seismic event of monumental proportions damaged a lot of buildings and took a lot of lives almost 2,000 years ago across the area now known as Jordan. One of the most prominent structures to suffer was Petra, being literally carved into the rock.

🏛5. Petra Is Jordan’s Most Famous Sight

In fact, it’s one of the Seven Wonders of the World. It’s a beautiful sight to see, we have to say. First settled more than 10,000 years ago, it was established as the capital of the formerly nomadic Nabataean Arabs around the 4th century BC. It’s so famous that it’s been a filming location for loads of movies, including Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Classic.

🗺6. Jordan Is An Important Spot Between Africa, Europe, And Asia

🛖7. There Are Over 100,000 Archaeological (And Tourist) Sites In Jordan!

Jordan really is packed with old stuff to see. There’s Petra, of course, Jerash, Al-Maghtas, Mount Nebo, and Ajulun Castle – all some of the most iconic places to visit, Tourism is a huge deal in Jordan; it employs a lot of people.

⛪️8. Jordan Makes Up Part Of The Holy Land

⭐️9. Jesus Was Baptized In Jordan

🦫10. Jordan Is Where You’ll Find The World’s Oldest Dam
A great historical fact about Jordan is that it is home to the oldest dam in the world – by a longshot. The Jawa Dam dates back to the 4th millennium BC and was built, as many dams are, for water supply. Jordan actually still struggles with water shortages to this day.

Dubai 🗺🗺🗺🗺🗺

1. It’s a very young city

In the early 1700s, Dubai was just a small fishing and pearl-diving village. By the end of the 18th century, about 1,200 people were living there. Fast-forward to today, Dubai has a population of 3.3 million. Before the discovery of oil, pearls and gold were highly sought after trading items.

2. It’s bird watchers paradise

Bird-watchers will be thrilled to hear that there are over 320 bird species that migrate between Europe, Asia, and Africa via Dubai. During the spring and fall, birds such as spotted eagles, broad-billed sandpipers, and greater herons pass through the city. They can be seen on a visit to Ras al Khor Wildlife Santuary and a falcony safari is a must for bird-lovers young and old. Experience the traditional sport of falconry first-hand with a greater spotted eagle, Harris’ hawk, and desert eagle owl.

3. Its tallest building is based on a flower

The world’s tallest building, at 2,716 feet, the Burj Khalifa needs no introduction. An icon in the Dubai skyline, this building should be on your Dubai bucket list. Zip to the 148th floor to see the city below. A fun Dubai fact is that the design of the building is based on a local desert flower, hymenocallis, also known as the spider lily.

4. Its cuisine is truly cosmopolitan

Being a trading center for centuries has meant that food from all over the world has influenced Dubai cuisine. Along with traditional Arabic food, you’ll find spices from India, ingredients from Persia, and eastern Mediterranean influences.

5. Its art scene is flourishing

The annual international art fair, Art Dubai, features artists from the Middle East, South East Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Australasia. This cutting-edge event focuses on contemporary artworks that relate to cultural heritage. Visit the Dubai Design District to explore its galleries and shops, or take a personal gallery tour along Alserkal Avenue to see what’s happening on the local scene.

6. It has robots as jockeys
One of the most popular sports in Dubai is camel racing. To prevent children from being used for their small size to ride and race the camels, small robots are now the jockeys.

7. It has a museum dedicated to coffee
Coffee lovers need their cup of the good stuff to start the day, and the Arabic culture certainly delivers. Visit the Coffee Museum to learn about the history of this beloved beverage and see coffee artifacts from around the world. For a taste of tradition, take part in a Bedouin coffee ritual.

8. It has a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Escape the appeal of Dubai’s bling and glamor to discover the historic Dubai Creek area. Walk in the small alleyways of the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood and explore museums, galleries, and local food. You can even cruise the river on a traditional abra boat. Take a tour with a local guide to learn facts about Dubai in this fascinating area.

9. It has a set of islands shaped like a palm tree.

The Palm in Dubai is the world’s largest artificial archipelago. These artificial islands were created out of only sand and rocks. In fact, it took over 3 billion cubic feet of sand from the seabed and 7 million tons of rock from the Hajar Mountains. Explore it on a fun jet ski ride or take to the skies in a thrilling tandem skydiving experience.

10. It has the world’s longest automated metro line
Boast that you’ve traveled on the longest driverless metro line in the world. Combine the red line (32.37 miles) and the green line (13.98 miles) and you’ve got a Guinness World Record. On this food tour, you’ll ride the metro to get you from one delicious tasting stop to the next.

The Aqua Paradise Resort sits next to Bulgaria’s biggest waterpark, which you get free access to as part of your stay here.
Nessebar’s best bits are all within a 20-minute drive of this hotel, including a couple of sandy beaches and the town’s church-filled old quarter. Travel for 15 minutes up the coast, meanwhile, and you can be standing on Sunny Beach’s Blue Flag swathe.
Take a stroll next door and you can make a splash at Aqua Paradise. This giant waterpark’s home to over 25 slides, including five that are brand new for 2022. Plus, there's a surf machine, a kids' zone, a lazy river and a variety of restaurants.
