We had a beautiful afternoon celebrating Evie’s third birthday! 🎈 Joined by her family and friends the birthday girl did a fab job as Mayor opening the city and loved caring for the babies in the doctors and giving everyone party makeovers! 💅🏽

It was also a pleasure to work alongside The Little Dining Club, just look at the gorgeous set up - fit for a princess!! ✨

And shout out to for their gorgeous balloons!

I had a wonderful morning yesterday at the Pioneer School in Basildon! I always look forward to my yearly visit as part of the students Careers week.

Pioneer School caters for children aged 3-19 with a range of learning difficulties. Yesterday was so rewarding as all the students thoroughly enjoyed themselves and I love how the city can be adapted to make it accessible for all students so they all gain the most out of the experience.

Thank you so much for having me Pioneer School and to Coral, Sharks, Starfish, Seahorse and Turtles classes for being superstars! 😊

🌻 Daisies, Primrose, Bluebells, Sunflowers and Poppies classes all enjoyed their time in the city, there was some fantastic role playing and all the children played beautifully; sharing and taking turns.

📚S C H O O L H I R E ✏️

I had an amazing day earlier this week at St. Michael’s School with Pre- Nursery, Nursery, Reception and Year 1 classes! The children loved dressing up, delivering the post from the post office, solving the clues to find the naughty pup and taking care of our city garden! 🪴

An extra special visit for me having been a pupil at St. Michael’s School many years ago!! Thank you to all the staff for being so welcoming as always and to all the students for being absolute superstars! 🤩 St Michael's School - Leigh on Sea

⭐️ Do you work in a School or Pre-School and would like Little City to visit your setting? ⭐️

Our sessions encourage and support children’s development across the Early Learning Goals and Early Years Framework and provides an exciting and enjoyable experience, particularly when exploring Careers and People who help us topics.

We are entirely mobile so would just need a school hall (or similar) to set up in. We bring all the equipment and toys and can also provide additional challenges and tasks to support learning aspects, e.g shopping lists in the supermarket and patient forms in the doctors surgery to support early reading skills.

WE’RE MAKING SOME CHANGES ⬇️

We have taken on board your feedback and are making some important changes to how you book with us going forwards 💻

❗️As from 30th April we will be closing our existing booking pages and returning to Bookwhen, a platform some longstanding Little City customers will be familiar with

❓WHY GO BACK?

A number of recent upgrades have been made to Bookwhen that will benefit both our customers and branches in terms of ease and functionality 👏🏻

You have told us you don't find our current site the easiest to navigate, so we are excited to return to our old platform, knowing many of you preferred it ✔️

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?

Nothing! 🤩 Our website and socials will all be amended to reflect the new booking sites from this weekend and if you do accidentally land in the wrong place, you will be redirected 👩🏾‍💻

Your first booking with us may take a little longer whilst you enter your details and familiarise yourself with the site, but we will be up and running smoothly in no time!

We appreciate you bearing with us whilst we transition from one system to another over the coming weeks

Please be reassured by the following:-

✅ All existing bookings on the current system will still be valid and you need take no action

✅ All existing credit will be recorded and honoured

🌟 SCHOOL HIRE 🌟

Since 1st January 2024, the Little City team have visited 130 schools 🤩… this means that we’ve been in a school EVERY DAY so far this year - that’s insane!

So why are we visiting so many schools?

✔️ role play is a great opportunity for children to practice what they’ve seen in the real world, safely and with some fun!
✔️ role play aids gross and fine motor skills development
✔️ role play visits with Little City support in-school topics around careers, people who help us, and many more!
✔️ a Little City visit enables the children to interact and play with their friends - and they don’t even know they’re learning by doing it 😉
✔️ we ONLY use high-quality toys and resources in our City set ups
✔️ a Little City visit enables the teachers and school staff to engage in, and also observe, the children’s play and understanding, so they can tailor their future lesson plans to the individual children
✔️ a Little City visit is more affordable for reduced school budgets compared to getting 30+ children on a coach to visit a play area
✔️ we can be flexible on our set up times and adapt to your school and your children’s needs. We’re confident in working with children with additional needs, and in special schools
✔️ Our toys and equipment is clean, safe and perfect for the age groups
✔️ we are fully insured, DBS checked, safeguarding trained and risk assess everything before we arrive

At the weekend we celebrated sisters Rosie and Ruby’s 3rd and 1st Birthdays! It was a super fun morning, the girls celebrated with all their friends and family ☺️ There was lots of dressing up, birthday cake served in the cafe and party makeovers going on in the salon!

Today I was lucky enough to be asked back to Ghyllgrove Primary School in Basildon to set the city up for the Nursery, Reception and SEN pupils 📚

There was a lot of excitement today from the pupils and teachers as I welcomed in two nursery classes and three reception classes throughout the day and all the children played beautifully! Dressing up was very popular👗, the supermarket tills were busy 🛒 and the teachers all got treated to a manicure in the salon! 💅🏽

It was also a pleasure to be able to hold a SEN session at the end of the day for hearing impaired pupils and also children with additional needs.

Thank you so much for having me Ghyllgrove, the staff and children are always so welcoming. Thank you for the lovely card too! 🥰
