A washout week!

Since my brother and family arrived over from Germany, it's virtually been a washout for the whole of last week! I can't blame them, as they have had very hot weather, like many parts of Europe. Unfortunately, I was not able to run any tours because of the weather and also because of family commitments. Hi, my name is Steve and I have lived and worked in Burley since August 2016 and prior to then, from October 2006 to December 2007 when I was the Steward at Burley Club in Pound Lane (now The Wathen-Bartlett).

During my time living in this lovely village, I have worked for The Old Farmhouse Tea Rooms; The Moorhill House Hotel; Burley Golf Club; The Wathen-Bartlett and Shappen Stores.

Currently, I am the acting Chair for Burley Village Cinema; the Treasurer and Distributor for Burley Village Magazine; the Secretary of The Burley Business and Community Association and the village Poppy Appeal Organiser.

The idea for this walking tour came to me in a number of ways:
* through walking my dog Teeko around the village and out into the forest
* by having an interest in the history of the village
* from people who visit Burley because of the connection to witches and stop and ask me whilst out walking
* doing something I enjoy coupled with the need to lose weight
* and the fact that there is nothing like this available in the village!
