***ATTENDANCE REQUEST***
Date: 24/10/2024
Location: Putsborough / Black Rock

Team paged to investigate a paddle boarder being swept out to sea off Putsborough Beach

The team arrived on scene and very quickly located the casualty who was being blown out to sea. The OIC requested assistance from RNLI Ilfracombe who arrived on scene shortly after and recovered the surfer onboard the all weather lifeboat.

As this was happening team members spotted a second casualty and made contact with Ilfracombe Lifeboat who picked up the second casualty and then returned with them both back to Ilfracombe.

The team then stood down and returned to station

Remember if you see anyone in trouble on the coast or in the estuaries dial 999 and ask for the coastguard

A few before and after photos of Cabin 32 formally known as Fern Cottage. Many of the neighbouring chalets are being knocked down and replaced with larger buildings. We are glad we retained the old cabin with its character and compact size. Come and stay and see what you think for yourselves.
