Some of the latest arrivals at Moorparks. 😍

It’s been a busy time at Moorparks. We have our first guests of the season (6th visit) and it’s lambing time now. We will let you know what’s happening/been happening when lambing is finished and we have had some sleep! 😉 Here is Jade and Jewel at 6 days old today. Six lambs here and two to go. We are looking forward to welcoming guests back very soon and will be open again from 18th March.
We are busy with maintenance, gardening and preparing for lambing next month. 😊

Its been almost 3 months since 'Gladiator' the Swiss Valais ram came to visit our girls. Today we had a visit from our sheep scanner, John Garthwaite , and are pleased to say all 4 girls are expecting twins. We are really looking forward to more sheepy lamb cuddles. 😍

Sorry to all who have been logging into our live web cams recently. A recent storm managed to 'blow/break' the BT router, 3 network switches and two cameras (and a partridge in a pear tree🙄).

Last week the Valais girls were sheared ready to look nice for their visit by the ram 🤭 (The Valais get sheared twice a year).
They were hand clipped and very calm. Have a look at how they got on......

Which way around ? 😱
If you come to devon, you have to have a 'DEVON cream tea', which is why at Moorparks Holiday Cottages we leave one for you. But everyone still asks the old question, so i will just explain.
There is, and only ever been, one way and that is the cream first. The cream is taking the place of butter. Unfortunately, a farmer in Cornwall (commonly know for their stubbornness) once mistakenly put the jam on first but he just wouldn't admit he did it wrong and then slowly convinced others to save his embarressment. It's a bit like 'The King's new clothes', nobody wanted to say anything. 🙄

It was lovely to get out to the Okehampton show yesterday, it's always one of our favourites. Lots to see and do and many people we haven't seen since the last shows were on!. Looking forward to next year when hopefully all of the shows will be back on. 😊

One more day before the first guests of the year arrive.
This is one of my favourite pictures as I think it shows the feel of what we try and achieve, a comfortable and peaceful place in nice surroundings. Somewhere you can relax.
We are really pleased that 48% of our bookings this year are repeat guests. Lovely to see so many wanting to come back.
For those that don't know, last year we took over all of our booking/advertising (No more AirBlah & Blah, or booking.con).
We don't have their advertising budget, but we are still being found, thanks for sharing/liking/commenting on posts as it all helps.
Last year and this year have been our busiest to date. 😊
look forward to seeing you all here soon. (but not all at the same time 🤪)
