About Me

Plane Sailing Travels was formed in February 2020, I truly believe that I can offer you the best service, the best destinations and those life long memories you’ll make along the way. Find out more about me below. My name is Ian and ever since my very first holiday abroad in 1991 when I was just 8, I knew that travel was going to be one of the things I treasured most in life. I remember boarding the plane with my family and friends, sitting right at the front of the airplane as we jetted off to Majorca. Those were the days when you could visit the pilots in the cockpit, you used to get a meal on a short haul flight and the cabin crew would hand out sweets for take off and landing to help relieve the “popping” in your ears. Since that first holiday to Majorca I was fortunate enough to go on holiday each year with my family up to the age of 17, taking in mainly destinations across mainland Spain, the Balearic Islands and the Canary Islands. From the age of 17 I no longer relied on the bank of Mum and Dad to fund my holidays. My passion for travel grew over the years and as I progressed through the various different jobs in my young adult years, I would get to take in various different locations, exploring some amazing countries and cities, such as Amsterdam, Palma De Mallorca and Barcelona. Fast forward a few years to the current day, I have been fortunate to be in full time employment with a competitive salary allowing me to broaden my horizons in the world of travel. I have been lucky enough with the circle of friends I keep and family members, that I have explored some beautiful destinations throughout the world. Taking in some far away delights such as Thailand, Mexico, Dominican Republic, New York, Orlando, Las Vegas & Los Angeles. As well as some closer to home including, Crete, Rhodes, Krakow, Berlin as well as continuing to visit the Canaries, Balearic's and mainland Spain. When it comes to booking, my friends usually leave it all to me. I like to hunt out the best of everything, including flight times, hotels and prices. They also come to me for assistance when booking a trip of their own. So, having already applied these skills for several years, it only seemed natural to put these into practice to earn a living. So, after a few discussions, in February of this year I launched Plane Sailing Travels, completing all my required regulatory training and product knowledge, I quickly secured my 1st official booking as an independent travel agent. I knew then I’d made the right decision and now I have direct access to the best suppliers in the industry, allowing me to provide you with the best deals possible. I also offer a personal service from the moment you book until the moment you walk back through your door, I’m with you every step of the way.
