The Bolthole on Pagham Beach is one of our favourite seaside properties, located right on the pebbles. 🤩

Sleeping up to 8 guests, it’s fully equipped with everything you’ll need for a summer holiday. There’s just one week of availability left in August, w/c 25th August. Four night minimum stay and prices start from £1,460 for a four night stay. Handful of May and July dates still remaining.

“Idyllic. The Hyde is where we escape from London, for stillness. Sometimes we will venture to the coast and local walks, or Bolney vineyard. Other times we will just sit and enjoy the peace. Morning coffee on the water or an evening around the fire. That is what we think of each time we have the urge to jump in the car and visit The Hyde.

There’s something special about being able to walk out of our front door at home and within 90 mins we are away from it all. No flights, no passports – just a bag full of groceries and our comfy clothes. They have covered absolutely everything and will offer suggestions, but at the same time leaves you to your own devices if that’s what you wish. The new bathroom is pretty impressive too. The icing on the cake. “

ÖÖD (meaning, broadly, ‘nightime’ in Estonian) is a cabin concept developed by two brothers, who wanted to create a luxurious way of spending the night out in nature, while treading as lightly on the environment as possible.

These stunning cabins are mirrored on two sides, reflecting back their surroundings, and making them near invisible – allowing the occupants (who can see out) perfect privacy but also an uninterrupted view. There are only a handful of them in the UK – and this, we think, has to be the most perfectly placed. 🤩

Now you can stay at the ÖÖD at The Secret Vineyard in Herstmonceaux, East Sussex. You’ll have access to your own swimming lake and the grounds of the where you can enjoy sustainable produced Sussex wine.

Cabins and Castles

Cabins and Castles is the brainchild and passion of Zoe Bassett. She moved back to West Sussex with her husband and young family from London in 2014, but was born and raised in the area, so knows it inside and out.

As a family, they have a passion for travel, be it far flung adventures, weekend glamping, or city breaks with the children - so Zoe was no stranger to property rental, either as a traveller or as a host; their own house was often rented out to visitors while they were away. But she found that many property rental sites were lacking. As someone with high standards and a very sharp eye for design, she found it took a long time to sift through the options on offer to find the hidden gems, and there was little in the way of local information or advice available.

In 2018, Cabins and Castles was born. A personally curated, handpicked collection of stylish and unique places to stay in Sussex. All of them have been vetted to ensure they meet exacting standards. All of them are unique, luxurious, and fabulous. All of them have brilliant hosts and excellent service. Added to which Cabins and Castles’ local knowledge is on hand to ensure you have the best possible stay in this wonderful area.

From the rolling hills of the South Downs National Park to 90 miles of coastline, to vineyards and castles and woodland to market towns. Sussex is the perfect place to explore yet only an hour from London.
