5 interesting facts about Mount Kilimanjaro!

1. Three Volcanic Cones: Kilimanjaro consists of three volcanic cones: Kibo, Mawenzi, and Shira. Kibo is the highest and the one that climbers aim to summit.

2. Unpredictable Weather: Weather on Kilimanjaro is highly variable and can change rapidly. Climbers must be prepared for both hot and cold conditions, as temperatures can range from tropical at the base to freezing at the summit.

3. Tallest Free-Standing Mountain: Kilimanjaro is the tallest free-standing mountain in the world, rising about 19,341 feet (5,895 meters) above sea level.

4. Five Climatic Zones: The ascent takes climbers through five distinct climatic zones: cultivated land, rainforest, heath, alpine desert, and the arctic summit, each with unique flora and fauna.

5. No Technical Climbing: Unlike many other high mountains, Kilimanjaro requires no technical climbing skills, making it accessible to hikers with good fitness and determination.

⁉️How Long Does it Take to Climb Mount Kilimanjaro?⛰️
We allow 7 days to reach Mount Kilimanjaro Summit and then descend to the finishing point. The more days spent on Mount Kilimanjaro the more likely you will successfully summit, so that’s why Hiking Buddies trip include a 7th day, so you will become more acclimatised to the altitude and will be less fatigued and have the best chance to reach the summit.
