One special place we love as a base is Georgian House in stylish Pimlico. Part of group there are also apartments you can choose to stay in but if you’re traveling with kids they’ll love you even more for the wizard rooms! Fun.

Dartmoor is one of those magical places, full of open spaces and big skies that feel good for the soul. New to Further Afield - and an ideal base to explore Dartmoor and the other highlights in and around Buckfastleigh - is The Orangery.

An unpretentious and welcoming little house tucked away in owner Laura’s garden it sleeps up to four and has a lovely open plan living area.

Buckfastleigh has lots going on, including a new arts centre, and is close to riverside Totnes as well as those lovely Dartmoor skies.

Sometimes a place so beautiful pops up that makes me want to move there. Tomorrow. No, hang on… today. is one of those places.

The lovingly and tastefully renovated houses which nestle in the lush countryside of the Dordogne sleep from 2 to 14 individually although you can take all or combinations for different group sizes.

There are pools, acres of space (where horses calmly graze adding to the bucolic idyll) and interiors which match the beauty of the setting.

Bonjour to our latest arrival. Pared back, bright, spacious French interiors await at this lovely gite for four. On the banks of the Loire La Maison du Passeur is the latest place to stay created by Sue and Micaela, the hosts of and it shares their very French aesthetic. Explore villages and vineyards or escape on the river. It’s a gem.

Thinking about a trip away in the next few months? Fancy saving some money too? Then how about beautiful Loft du Vigneron in Southern France? There’s 10% off remaining weeks in March, April and May.

This place is a real escape. There is a the courtyard with private pool if the weather’s nice, covered terrace for sunny afternoons and the interiors are welcoming and cozy too.

This area in springtime is beautifully green and lush. Rieux-Minervois has restaurants, bars and shops so you don’t need to stray too far if you fancy just holing up. However, Carcassonne is close by for days out and there are masses of beautiful towns and villages to explore plus local vineyards to stock up in before heading back to that terrace.

On a chilly February afternoon this lovely pic from our newest partner - The Mount in the Lake District - made us happy with its reminder that spring is not far off (promise!)

It’s the ideal base for exploring the scenery and activities of the Lakes, the towns and villages nearby (including Keswick) as well as being 💯 dog-friendly 🐾

The B&B has the cutest shepherd’s hut for solo travellers in the garden as well as welcoming communal spaces for when the weather suggests staying in might be nicer.

Combine these two - and explore the scenery and locations which form a huge part of the series - by staying at beautiful Dyers Cottage in Halifax. It’s a cozy and welcoming house brilliantly located to explore this fantastic area as well as the city itself.

NEW PLACE TO STAY!!! We’re excited to welcome Richard and Alex’s newly renovated Portuguese farmhouse to the collection. The house has cozy and stylish interiors and sleeps up to seven, but it’s the outside areas which make this a lovely escape in warmer months!

Terraces and pool surrounded by ancient olive groves provide the privacy and peace that are the stuff of summer holiday dreams.

You can see the ancient town of Monsaraz from the house offering several traditional restaurants within walking distance.
