Lovely meal out last night with friends at The Boathouse, Kingairloch. Would definitely recommend if you’re in the area. Pete very helpful talking us through his mouthwatering menu. We were spoilt for choice and will definitely be back. Bit of a traffic jam on the way home though 😊

We are settling into our new home and life a bit further west. It’s forecast good weather for the weekend and this was sunset earlier looking down Loch Sunart. Have a great weekend all 😊.

Moving to pastures new.

We sold Pier House on Friday and would like to thank all our guests that stayed in either Pier House B&B or our self catering “The View” . A massive thank you to all of you that supported our journey it is greatly appreciated.

Lovely clear starry skies last night, we even saw some meteors from the Geminid Meteor shower.
The photo was taken in 2015 during the Geminid Meteor shower. We were too busy just watching last night :)

Aurora Alert Round 2 : The Aurora forecast has been at "Amber Alert" all day and has just risen again to "Red". Here's some photo's from last night, taken just outside our front door. It's just sunset here in the UK and we're hopeful of another show of the Northern Lights this evening.

January weather in the Highlands is always “Eventful” and living in Glencoe with the rawness of nature just adds to the sense of wonder we still have with more than a decade living in the village. Earlier this week Pier House was “humming” through the night with the wind screaming from the West and being funnelled by the local topography; so much that the bed was vibrating as we tried to sleep. Yesterday, feeling a little stir crazy, we traveled South of Oban and this was the Firth of Lorn from Ellenabeich on the island of Seil, next to the historic slate island, Easdale. The shore was a mass of sea foam and Andy was nearly blown over trying to film the video. Today we have a weather warning for snow this afternoon; really hoping we get a decent dump of the white stuff, which will be great for the ski centre…
