Our Surroundings.
Whether you're into surfing, walking, running, cycling, bird watching, kayaking, fresh water fishing, sea fishing, whale watching, conservation, beach combing, open water swimming (phew!) or just fancy a relaxing break on the Islands, Two Seas Hebrides caters for all of these! We are surrounded by Machair (fertile, low lying grassy plain, rich in wildlife and bird life) with five beaches within easy walking distance (Eoropie, Stoth, Cunndal, Port of Ness and Swainbost) and miles of coastline for walks to observe whales, sharks, dolphins and grey seals on calm days. Not to mention the bird life, including Eagles (Golden and Sea), Buzzards and Hen Harriers. The Hebridean Way Cycling Route passes within 200m of the apartment as does the Butt of Lewis Walking Route. We are also perfectly located for the Hebridean Whale Trail, with the Butt of Lewis recognised as a sightseeing spot. Loch Stiapabhat Local Nature Reserve (the only one in The Hebrides) is less than a mile away where you can watch within its observatory, rare bird sightings during their migration. Award winning Eoropie Dunes Park is a 5 min walk away where the children (and adults!) can spend hours, if not days enjoying its many outdoor activities. There are shops (two of, including one with fuel), Post Offices, Cafes, Churches, a Historical Society, a Laundrette and three Restaurants within easy driving distance (5-10 mins) without the need to go to the the nearest large town, Stornoway (35 min drive). We also have a number of local historical sites, again within walking distance. These include Dun Eistean (ancestral home of the Morrison Clan) and Teampall Mholuaidh (13th century Church). Further sites of interest and things to do can be found on our local Community Owned Estate website (Google: Galson Trust).
