Fancy delving into the wonderful West Country in the UK? 🌳🇬🇧 Located in 4 acres of wildflower meadows, this stunning 18th century cottage is the perfect getaway in which to enjoy unspoilt countryside.

Hywel recently swapped his cottage in North Wales for a slice of life in Somerset. "It was an absolute pleasure to swap with Jules and her family!!! From the initial message right up to the final day, communication was excellent. They have a stunning home in a beautiful and quiet area that is not too far from a lot of excellent attractions, though their home is so relaxing we could have stayed there and not gone anywhere for the whole week! The swimming pond is as good as it looks, and is AMAZING after a hot day. Our little girl LOVED going to collect eggs from the chickens every day, as well as playing with the two very well-behaved cats. Jules and family took great care of our home and we returned home to an impeccably clean house. This was a holiday that will stay in the memory for a very long time!”

One of our members Samantha recently swapped her pad for this slice of Heaven: “This is a stunning home on a very unusual island. Ioannis was fantastic to communicate with, and the swap was easy to organise. The island is tiny and almost everywhere is within walking distance. The boat trip to The Blue Cave and trips to St George Island are a must. There is a catteraman to Rhodes, so make a trip there for a change of scene.

"I have four kids and I got tired of spending 70% of my travel budget on hotels or Airbnb’s! I’ve calculated that some of my trips have been in the range of £10,000 per trip, but instead I’m paying £0 because we’re using Love Home Swap. Because of this saving, we get to travel quite a lot – I tend to travel three times more than most of my friends, purely because of home swapping.”

"Another great thing is that you’re not in as much of a hurry as when you’re staying at an expensive hotel for a short time. On a home swap you can stay for three weeks instead of just five or ten days, so you can be much more relaxed. You’re not rushing to buy tickets for an attraction every day like you do in a hotel. I can just wake up and say: “Oh, the weather is nice today, why don’t we try doing that?”

Andew's stunning apartment in Long Island City is the perfect spot to explore the city (without the hefty hotel price tag!) It's just minutes from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan via the subway, or you can meander into the heart of the city to take in the views of downtown Manhattan from the waterfront.

Nicole who swapped here this April says, "Thank you Ana and Andrew, for the most perfect stay! Their gorgeous home was comfortable and impeccably clean and what a location! It's on an idyllic tree-lined street, 150 steps to Trader Joe's and even closer to the train entrance! The train is two short stops away from Manhattan and was a breeze to use. Ana and Andrew were such kind and attentive hosts - we couldn't have asked for a better home base to explore NYC!”

Kathy and John recently swapped life in Canada for a taste of the English countryside, and were sold on the rural idyll. ""If we could award a higher score to this delightful property we would! We had an absolutely wonderful stay in this charming, spacious, comfortable and tastefully-decorated cottage! Every detail is thought about with care, and Sonia was the perfect host, leaving us some delicious local treats to enjoy upon our arrival. The cottage is immaculate with gleaming kitchen and baths, high-quality hotel linens, a cozy woodstove for chilly evenings and a comfortable bed with down duvet. Wonderful location for exploring both Oxforshire and the Cotswolds areas, and some fabulous restaurants close by. The cottage is in a charming, quiet village away from the tourist crowds of the Cotswold towns. Thank you once again Sonia and Chris! ”

Located on the edge of Mount Lewis National Park and just a short distance from The Great Barrier Reef, there's no shortage of natural wonders to explore nearby. Or if you're a homebody, all you need to do is make a cuppa, sit down and enjoy the views over the lush tropical garden!

Sarah, who swapped with Anna in January this year, agrees: "All I can say is 'WOW'! Staying in Anna's home in Mossman Gorge was a highlight of my Australia trip, thanks to its idyllic location and beautiful design. The house is modern and spacious, with rainforest views from every window. The bathtub in the main bedroom is so zen and the outdoor balcony area is perfect for al fresco dining (just bring the mozzie spray for the wet season!). We had so much fun in the amazing outdoor pool, jumping off a variety of natural rocks into the water. Anna was very helpful in recommending things to do and was very communicative at all points both before and during our stay. Thank you again Anna for such a lovely stay."

In need of a little alone time? How does an off-grid eco lodge in the Chilean desert sound?

Located in half a hectare of land on the edge of a sleepy village, this stunning retreat is owned by Love Home Swap member Amelia, who built the place herself. Impressive stuff!

A recent swapper said: “Amelia's house is amazing! Totally off-grid, yet with every comfort. It was an experience to stay in her architect designed adobe, with it's metre thick mud and straw walls - cool when the sun was blazing outside, comfortable in the evening. The house is built from locally-sourced materials, there's even a tree as a supporting beam - we just loved it. There is so much to see and do in San Pedro, 5 days wasn't long enough for our stay. We felt we could spend a bit more as the house hadn't cost us anything to stay in. Amelia is lovely - so helpful before our arrival with suggestions; so welcoming, when we did arrive - she even picked us up from the bus station with our cases and drove us to the property. Amelia's wonderful house in San Pedro de Atacama gets 5 stars from us - we'd give it 6 stars if we could!”

We’ve always been keen on the idea of home comforts. Following a disappointing holiday in a cramped Caribbean hotel room with two small children, we were determined to find a way to enjoy vacations without compromises - and Love Home Swap began. You’ll find everything you need, from spacious beach-side apartments and busy city bolt holes to private country retreats and idyllic family villas. Our members have access to unique homes all over the world.

It’s a super simple idea. Choose where you want to go, find the perfect house for your next holiday, and make the swap. We’ll do the rest, so it couldn’t be easier – offering you the choice of a direct home swap, or a holiday using our clever travel points.
