For many a trip to India involves the 'Golden Triangle' tour. Visiting Delhi, Jaipur and Agra for the Taj Mahal may be with a bit of tiger safari included. Delhi has over 1600 monuments to visit, 3 that stand out for me are Qutab Minar, Humayun’s tomb and Jama Masjid a mosque that holds 25,000. Jaipur is often called the 'Pink city' due to the colour is was painted for a visit by the Prince of Wales in 1876. At the time, pink was the symbolic colour of hospitality. As the people of Jaipur are known for their incredible hospitality, Maharaja Sawai Ram Singh I had the whole city painted pink to welcome the royals. It’s said that Prince Albert nicknamed Jaipur the ‘Pink City’ and the name stuck. Agra and the Taj Mahal is a must for any first time visitor - it is one of the most breathtaking monuments in the world. Most people also then opt for a safari for the thrill of a tiger sighting, Kanha is one of the best parks for that.
