Our expert touring and adventure supplier, G Adventures, has launched "Solo-ish": a selection of exciting tours aimed at solo travellers who want to explore new destinations, but with the benefit of being part of a small group.

Solo-ish is solo group travel reimagined, with community at its core. Exclusively for solo travellers, you can get closer to your group-mates, and the world, right from day one on trips designed for instant connection.

They have a wide range of tours on offer to exciting destinations around the world, including Jordan, Peru, South Korea, Indonesia and South Africa. They also have European tours available which include hiking, boat trips and vineyard visits.

We visited Valencia for the day on our cruise last month, and we were so impressed by it that we all said we wanted to go back!

It's a very aesthetically pleasing city with some gorgeous architecture, as well as so many fascinating things to see and do. Rich with culture and history, and with something for everyone, you can take in sights such as the Central Market (a must-do for foodies!), the Lonja Silk Exchange, the City of Arts and Sciences, the Bioparc Zoo and the Cathedral, which claims to house the Holy Grail.

It is a city with parks and beaches, and there are also a plethora of excellent restaurants - did you know that Valencia is the birthplace of Paella?

With a wide selection of centrally located hotels to suit all budgets, I can't recommend Valencia enough!

The summer holidays are officially over, and the kids are back at school 🎉

Where did you go over the summer?

My family and I opted for a cruise onboard Celebrity Ascent, and it was absolutely fantastic!

We sailed from Barcelona on my birthday, and spent a week visiting fantastic ports of call including Valencia, Nice/Monaco, Portofino and La Spezia. Valencia in particular was an (unexpectedly) absolutely gorgeous city, and we all said we’d love to go back!

Rick and I took advantage of an organised tour of Monaco, arranged by Celebrity, and we’re so glad we did, as we saw and learned so much about this fascinating place. We wished we had booked more Celebrity excursions as this worked so well for us.

As for the ship…. Well, what can I say? It’s absolutely stunning, beautifully designed and laid out, with plenty of lovely bars, café’s and seating areas all with their own unique styles. Our stateroom (Infinite Veranda) was the best we have ever stayed in, both for space and style, and the shows were absolutely world-class – again, the best we’ve ever seen on a cruise. The food is always top-notch on a cruise, and the speciality restaurants are fantastic – our dining experience at Le Petit Chef was something we’ll remember for a very long time.

Eddie loved it so much he has already asked when we’re going back on Celebrity Ascent 😁

Those of you who know me well know I love a cruise, and Celebrity definitely did not disappoint! There’s a lot more I could rave about but perhaps you should try it out for yourselves…

In honour of St George's day, and because we have yet another school holiday next month (!), I have a fantastic English family resort to show you.

Have you heard about the next up-and-coming European holiday destination which has been likened to the Maldives?

Introducing: 𝒯𝒽𝑒 𝒜𝓁𝒷𝒶𝓃𝒾𝒶𝓃 𝑅𝒾𝓋𝒾𝑒𝓇𝒶

So what’s so special about the Albanian Riviera?

It has a long coastline along the Ionian Sea, with some of Europe’s most beautiful beaches and stunning scenery, which make the area extremely Instagrammable. There is something for everyone here – it’s great for families and adults. Cultural enthusiasts can enjoy numerous UNESCO heritage sites, the active types can participate in hikes and water sports, and foodies will be spoilt for choice due to the wealth of varied restaurants, from beachfront shacks to upscale eateries. The hotels are generally of a high standard; many are beachfront located and have recently been built or renovated.
The area enjoys an average of over 300 days of sun each year and can be reached via a 3.5 hour flight.

The best part? It’s much cheaper than the Maldives – in fact, it’s much cheaper than most European beach destinations! Albania use Lek for their currency; you can enjoy a decent meal for two for around £30 and a pint costs around £2.

So how do you reach the Albanian Riviera?

Well, Albania’s main airport, Tirana, is a 4-hour drive away, so the best way to do it is to actually fly to Corfu and then get on a ferry, which takes 30 minutes and takes you right into the heart of the Riviera.

One of our favourite holidays that we offer in our entire portfolio, and one of the most unique, this is a luxury jungle camping experience with ethical elephant experiences and conservation at its core.

Elephant Hills has won a whole array of awards for its animal welfare, and for the unique and authentic way in which guests can engage with these magnificent animals while also contributing to their wellbeing.

Visitors come here to marvel at these incredible creatures, perhaps enjoying a bath in a natural mud pool, but also to have the chance to feed them one of their daily meals, watch them play and interact, and graze within the natural environment of their large free-roaming pen.

You’ll also get to learn about the life of the mahouts who look after the elephants, seeing how they live in harmony with nature and their elephants, and finding out all about the animal husbandry and veterinary techniques used here.

What we also love about Elephant Hills is that despite the property’s remote location in Khao Sok National Park in southern Thailand, its all-inclusive tour packages include transfers to and from any location in Phuket, Krabi, Khao Lak, Suratthani, Khanom and Samui, giving you a hassle-free experience and the chance to focus on enjoying your holiday without worrying about transportation.

You’ll stay in a luxury glamping tent with one big double bed or two twin beds, plus space for a roll-in bed, with a private bathroom and shower. Among the various packages to choose from, ranging from two to four days, are the three-day Elephant Hills Jungle Lake Safari with a final night in The Lake Camp, one of world’s only luxury floating tented camps, on Cheow Larn Lake.

All packages are full board, with hearty breakfasts, lunch and dinner buffets of Thai and western dishes in the main camp area included, plus a well-stocked bar for drinks around the campfire.
