I thought some of our parents might be interested in this. I came across this app when someone on another Facebook group mentioned it. I know may of our little ones have a special interest in surprise egg reveal videos on YouTube. These seem to appeal to most young children and in particular many children on the autistic spectrum. This is a great way of engaging your child in a more interactive activity, they can begin to learn cause and effect from tapping the screen rather than just passively watching. I know my little one loves it and it could save you money using this as a treat rather than buying countless eggs eggs

For all your sensory seekers, we tried something new tonight, homemade bath paints. She painted the tiles, the bath and of course herself. What fun, meeting those sensory needs, whilst developing hand eye co ordination, and it can all be easily washed away! 😄
Recipe below
Shampoo (we used baby)
Cornflour
Liquid food colouring (a few drops)
A little water
Mix a spoon of cornflour to equal amounts of shampoo, add a little water and mix until it has a paste/paint like consistency

To mark the end of autism awareness month and to continue the good work, we will be offering our Autism awareness cards throughout the month of May at just £1! There are 10 cards included, the pound will cover postage and packaging costs so these are essentially free!. These cards are a great resource for any parent of a child on the spectrum. They can be used and handed out when out and about, during meltdowns,or other situations when people may stare at your child in an unwelcome manner. Following on from our Easter sensory theme, we've made an Easter garden, here it is all ready for some sensory play! Our garden includes a chocolate pudding muddy area to add an Easter (chocolate) scent to it, as well as a collection of different tactile sections including pasta, rice and feathers 😊more details on individual photos

Well they emerged from their ice eggs, a bit tatty and worse for wear, the rabbit lost his eyes, but all good fun. I found the opportunities to expand language during this activity were endless. She even adapted a song to fit, singing, ice ice go away, come again another day, whilst spraying the ice with warm water

Now the fun begins, time to try to hatch out critters! This is a great scientific experiment, while exposing your child to sensory feelings such as cold, wet and slimy. We are trying lots of different methods to hatch them (see photo comments) we could be some time

The next sensory activity, ice eggs, now I've only tried these with plastic dinosaurs so I'm not sure how well our little Easter critters will stand up to being frozen. You may also want to stick to animals that do hatch out of eggs to save any misconceptions, although I haven't

Here is another sensory idea using plastic eggs, just pop a glow stick (small bangle size ones) and you have your very own Easter light. You could always use this idea to light the way to hidden goodies for use in an Easter egg hunt in the dark!

We then opened them after a few hours, taking only the top half off ( make sure you cut any tabs holding the two half of eggs together before freezing to make easier removal after) .This reveals hard egg shape sticks of paint with there own handy grip handle (the bottom half of the egg). Here we have our first sensory play idea based on an Easter theme for today. First we bought some cheap plastic refillable eggs, we filled these with paint and popped them in the freezer (wrap them in cling film or a sandwich bag to avoid spillages)
