It sleeps 4 people comfortably with a double bed and two single. There is a double sofa bed in the living room. The kitchen is fully equipped and there is also a washing machine and tumble drier. Beatenberg is a quiet Swiss village and is the longest in Europe. There are many walks directly from the front door with the cable car up to the Niederhorn 1km
away. There are some good restaurants both

in Beatenberg and in Interlaken,
Many people enjoy the walking ranging from gentle walking to high level mountains. Relaxing in the garden in of course an option but also other activites such as paragliding, golf, cycling. trotti-biking, horse riding, tennis and swimming. You may even see the Red Bull air races which fly over Interlaken. There is excellent skiing at the well-known resorts of the Grindlewald, Wengen and Murren andthey are all within easy distance of the chalet.

We are now fully open to bookings again - after a long hiatus down to Covid and big building works on the slope next to us (not building as in a house but shoring up the slope and redoing all the retaining walls and paths).

🥰WHAT TO DO WITHOUT A CAR 🥰

Maybe you came by train and bus or maybe you just don't want to drive but there's plenty to do without a car, straight from the chalet

🏔 Sit in the garden, read a book and enjoy the view

🏔Left from the chalet - Walk to the village, do some shopping, enjoy a coffee, visit the tourist office, go to the playground, go swimming (with your local discount pass from the tourist office)

🏔 Right from the chalet - go for a drink or meal at Hotel Gloria and enjoy the stunning views, walk to the gondola and go up to the https://niederhorn.ch/?lang=en (have. drink there) and either walk down or go back in the gondola, Walk to the https://www.gasthaus-riedboden.ch and have a meal (this is a definite for us whenever we go and it's the photo you can see), walk down to Lake Thun

🏔Get on the 101 post bus (bus stop is less than a minute walk) and go down to Interlaken or stop off at https://www.luegibrueggli.ch for a meal or a drink. The bus is free with the pass from the tourist office.

🏔Go for a walk! Literally the paths are right there.

Enjoy the fresh air and the sound of the cows (depending when you go) - it is so very refreshing to be there

😃The details are here 😃

So here are some pictures of the inside of the chalet. The living room one was taken a few weeks ago (notice the snow ❄️)

It is typically Swiss decor, especially the kitchen which has a warm feel and is well equipped. A big fridge and small freezer, electric hob and oven, dishwasher, all the crockery you could need, oil and vinegar, herbs, pans, microwave etc etc

There is a small hall as you come in the door down the side of the apartment and the garden is accessible from the living room. The living room is connected to the kitchen and dining space. There is a sofa and two chairs and in the dining area, as you can see, a table.

The curtains are clean and, let's say, vintage 😁 Who doesn't love the 70's!

The main bedroom has a big double bed with plenty of space for 2 adults and a child 😀 - The view from the bed you can see below. There is a big wardrobe and a small chest of drawers. There is also a travel cot and an Ikea high chair should you need them.

The other bedroom has two single beds in it and a cupboard plus small chest of drawers.

The bathroom - is also 'vintage', for some reason we don't have pictures but it's pink!!! There is a washing machine in there and a long bath, shower is in the bath.

I have added the plan of the apartment - although it's a bit complicated it shows the layout well.

It is £90 a night plus cleaning and sleeps 4 ( + baby). There is no wifi but we either pay for it from home or go into the local Swisscom in Interlaken and buy a SIM card for a mobile router. There is also no television - we like to get away from it all really

🥳WE ARE BACK🥳

Mum and I are very pleased to announce the chalet is open again for renting. The view hasn't changed 😀and although the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau are in clouds here you can see them in our cover photo. My boy (in pic) is a bit older now but loves coming here and is beginning to learn some Swiss German.

We aren't on Airbnb anymore, so booking is direct with us, nice and easy and no hidden costs 😊Message us if you want to book, more info or just to chat!
In the next post we'll put up some internal pictures and give some more details but it's currently ready to go and waiting.

It's about 20 mins up the mountain from Interlaken and a 45minute drive from Grindlewald but there are loads of walks and things to do without driving anywhere.

Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond our control we are unable to rent out our chalet this year. We have no housekeeper for starters, a fence is in urgent need of repair and without it the risk is high of people falling down onto the road. On top of that a bed broke! So as there is too much going on we have decided not to rent out this year. We hope to start again next year so watch this space.

Here we are at the start of another season for our chalet apartment in Switzerland. Sadly we cannot go ourselves at the moment. But you can if you live in Switzerland or are allowed to travel to Switzerland. We are offering very good rates this year. Partly this is because last year some items of furniture were destroyed, such as the bookcase with its paperback books, an armchair And a scratched table. Fortunately the bedrooms, the kitchen and bathroom escaped damage. We have a new housekeeper who will be thoroughly cleaning the apartment after every guest so that it is Covid safe. She knows about the importance of this as it is her area of study. Please do send us a message if you are interested. It might be for a long weekend, or you might want to go for a month to escape the busy town that you live in at the moment. It is a perfect place to work. The Wi-Fi is excellent. There are plenty of places to walk from the chalet.

I miss the mountains. I long to be able to travel to Beatenberg again and see those snow lords. Alas it is not to be for a while. Do you live in Switzerland? Maybe you would like to go and stay in our chalet apartment for a while? good place to work. However, first we need to find a new housekeeper as the one we had last year is no longer available. If you know of anyone who could help please let me know! This photo is taken from above Beatenberg. Lovely view of the mountains and of my daughter Nicole who lives a very long way away now - Melbourne Australia. I miss her too.
