We made our way from the airport to the hotel using the metro system. It's such a simple system to use and VERY cheap! For €20 each, we had a 3 day pass, and that included the journey from the airport to the hotel and not just whilst in the centre of Athens!! Amazing value and all safe to use even late at night. It does get busy during working peak hours, but other than that, we always got a seat. It's open daily from 5.30 am depending on the station and closed around 11pm. However, on a Friday and Saturday night, it stayed open till around 2am! Well worth using!

We also went to the Athens Academy. Gorgeous building.

A Colleague has been out in staying in an Hotel and has shared some tips on Abroad. Should you have any questions then please let me know.

😎 First of all, don't panic! She has experienced a hotel stay herself last week, and have now heard what these new mask regulations mean in their hotels... and she has informed us that it doesn't feel much different and you will 100% still enjoy the holiday vibe.

🌟 😷 New Mask Regulations in Spain 😷 🌟

🏊‍♀️ Masks will not have to be worn around the pool or sunbathing

🏝 Masks will not have to be worn on the beach

🤸‍♀️ Masks will not have to be worn whilst doing exercise

🏹 Masks will not have to be worn whilst doing hotel activities such as Archery, or yoga

🐵 Masks will not have to be worn by kids during Star Camp

🎭 Masks will not have to be worn when watching entertainment
🚶🏼‍♀️ In public areas inside the hotel it will be preferred clients wear
their mask (for e.g. in the lifts)

🥘 Masks, as before, will have to be worn when entering the restaurant & when in buffet area choosing their dishes

👧🏼 Mask regulations are from 6 years+

🌟 Our colleagues will explain all to guests on arrival & it is well signposted throughout the hotels - but it’s a very relaxed environment & will stay that way so...no worries!

🏞 Outside the hotel: if social distancing can be maintained easily (1.5m in Spain) it’s not obligatory to wear masks (such as Paseo Marítimo in Palma) but in busy areas and other public places walking around like shops, etc it is obligatory

🍸 Masks do not have to be worn in bars or restaurants when consuming food & beverages

🏃🏼‍♂️ Masks do not have to be worn doing exercise like running or cycling outside of the hotels
🇪🇸 These are the new regulations in Balearic Islands / Canary Islands are as before - however this may change, regulations may become more relaxed or stricter so it’s always good to keep an eye on this

😷 With our increased mask regulations here in the UK I don’t see it being a big issue so....get booked up & enjoy that well deserved holiday in beautiful surroundings....

❗️ TOP TIP TUESDAY ❗️

TripAdvisor is a great tool, but people are OBSESSED with the star ratings. People won't look at a 3 star rating as they think it won't be great.

However, a TA 3 star rated hotel could be better than a TA 4 star rated hotel. Here are a few things to look out for....

☀️ What dates are the bad reviews? They could be 3 years old!

☀️ Is it people moaning about the "unfriendly staff" who didn't smile? Well we all know how miserable and moaning brits abroad can be!! Especially with sun burn and not enough CHIPS!

☀️ Has the hotel gone through a recent re-furb? The hotel could have been so bad, it's had a massive re-furb and all the positive comments are all recent but not been open long enough to build up the rating.

☀️ Food comments? Well if you are looking at a £500 all inclusive hotel, I can guarantee it won't be fine dining! Is it peoples expectations?

ALWAYS look at a mixture of good and bad review and with the above tips, you should pick a lovely hotel!
