Before its closure in 1998, Kai Tak was known as one of the most difficult airports to fly into. The airport was located right in the city and planes required a 45 degree turn to line up with the runway, literally flying in between high rise buildings to land. Many things in Hong Kong have changed since 1998. However, having spent time this Summer with "old" school friends who still live there, there's no doubt it's still a fun and exciting city with lots to offer.

The summer typhoon season is just finishing and the next 6/7 months are a great time to visit.
