Took this photo last night but then I was so chilled out with enjoying our meal, spending time with my family and drinking wine that I never posted it.
Cheers to not returning to school this week! I've never experienced a Sunday before the school year begins that's been this chilled out. I enjoyed a dog walk, watching Willow Frankling play football, lunch outdoors, the afternoon at the allotment with Sophie Toogood , Tyler Frankling made us the most incredible 3 course meal which we LOVED and then a relaxed evening with my gorgeous family.
I am feeling so thankful for the life that we are creating. Everyone said that starting your own business would be hard. Do you know what? Because everything that I'm doing is for me and there's nobody else pressuring me with deadlines, I think this might all be manageable. Funnily enough, everyone that's told me it's hard hasn't been a teacher! I don't think there are many people that haven't experienced time in the classroom that can truly understand the complexity of the role and how the stresses remain in your mind.
For those of you that don't know, I'm currently working on amazing projects! They Dream of Travel is my travel sideline which has been operating for over a year now but due to the 6 months that I had signed off from school, I didn't do anything with travel during that time either. If you're looking for anything travel based, give me a shout! I can offer short breaks, UK cottages and holiday parks, all inclusive trips, more bespoke packages, Lapland and Christmas market trips, Christmas market cruises and more!
Wild Isle Nature School is what is replacing my teaching role! I have set up my own company! ๐ฒ With the incredible help from my family and friends as sounding boards, I have developed ideas and put things in place to get this crazy idea off the ground. Big thanks to Tyler for his understanding, acceptance of me spending lots of our savings and his big time support with the accounts and website side of things. This guy has literally saved us thousands of pounds by developing his own CRM and booking and payment system for my customers. I could have used an online platform however they take a percentage for each payment that they take on top of your card payment percentages. He's saved us so much! Tyler is also a director of Wild Isle and I couldn't have done it without him! Sue Beere and Penni Frankling have been big time supporters and sounding boards for ideas and I wouldn't have developed some of the key things occurring without them and their listening and support. Sophie and Darren James Toogood have just been the most wonderful business supporters and even out up with my dealing with a potentially large contract while on holiday! Darren has helped me to write a fantastic press release (watch this space) which makes me sound bloody amazing and it seems like the real deal!
The final project which many of you won't know a thing about yet is Wild Roots IW CIC which is sooooo exciting! Myself, Daisy Cole and Vicky are now directors of a CIC. We are so excited for everyone in the community to hear more about this project and to know what is happening with it! We will be working with funders to provide wild sessions to children, young people, adults and families in the most fantastic setting. We can't wait!
