Everyday is a learning opportunity when you’re little. We see the joys in the most simple things when we are young.

Last week we had to print off a couple of photos, so Nat and I took the children to our local Asda, (other supermarket cafes are available!)

We decided to go for “a lovely cup of tea.”

The children sat beautifully, chatting and laughing about this that and the other whilst waiting for their tea. We all had a grown up cup, some tea and milk. For some, they are learning to drink from a cup and some can do it already. But taking turns for help, pouring tea and milk, waiting a few minutes for it to cool, sipping tea, learning that drinks are hot, hot, hot, that we need to take care, and enjoying each others company was a great way to spend our morning.

Our day at the zoo!
We went with all our friends and saw so much. We joined in with the show, became really brave and hugged a Gruffalo, we followed the story of the Gruffalo, picnicked, joined a dazzle of Zebras, we saw some of our favourite animals, we waited patiently to look through windows and peepholes, then we let our friends have a turn, we listened and followed instructions, we stayed together and walked as a group. It was a wonderful day.

What a beautiful day at the .

A place of calm, rememberance and history, where our children can run free.

We followed trail, played in the play areas, ate our lunch together, ran with our friends, held hands with those smaller than ourselves, climbed, squealed, discovered textures and surfaces. We talked about the sculptures and explored with our hands.

“It is your garden now, little children,” said the Giant, and he took a great axe and knocked down the wall. And when the people were going to market at twelve o'clock they found the Giant playing with the children in the most beautiful garden they had ever seen.

Trip to the Zoo today!

We visited with our friends from Talk, Learn and Play with Keeley and Emma’s Childminding.

We saw zebras, penguins, gorillas, flamingos, chimpanzees and meerkats. We met Finn who told us all about the penguins and the gorillas. He spent a lots of time talking to us, asking questions and answering our questions. Thank you Finn.

We had a blast. Our favourite fact that we learned was that a group of Zebra is called a dazzle! The smelliest animal was the Rhino!We all came home exhausted but happy!

Today we have been fundraising! We took part in a challenge for the ! We all got dressed up in pink and did 100 squats. The children were excited, happy to get dressed up and were so good at doing their squats!

Celebrate Chinese New Year with us !! 🐍🥢 It is the year of the snake 🐍

From Mon 27th Jan until Sat 1st Feb, we will be celebrating Chinese new year with wonderful performances from Magical Mayhem and Lion Dancing ! 🤩 There will be lots of fun, plus delicious Chinese dishes to eat as much as you like!

We have had the best day!

Celebrating Chinese New Year, Year of the Snake at Wing Wah in Burton.

There was Lion dancing, thank you George, The Pearl Dragon parade with Magical Mayhem, stories and snake Balloon models, - thank you Sam and Paul of Magical Maybem, and lots of lovely food of course!

The children were so brave when they came face to face with the lion, they were so happy, well behaved and keen to try everything! We were so proud of how involved they were today. Thank you Eva and the team at Wing Wah Chinese Restaurant in Burton.

Another festive day! ❤️ The children had so many compliments today, we sang and rang jingle bells as we walked around, talked to the shoppers and the ladies in the cafe, danced, talked about colours, textures, sounds, smells and flavours. We learn while we play and while we’re happy! And today has been a very happy day.

I’m so proud of our little ones today. We went out for our annual Christmas Dinner and they used their manners, ate well at the table and had a thoroughly wonderful time! Which meant the adults did too!
