Behaviour Matters Promoting positive relationships in schools and at home, through courses for parents and teachers as well as individual work with parents.

They both have psychology degrees and are trained and qualified to deliver a range of parenting courses, including: The Incredible Years, Strengthening Families, Strengthening Communities and The Nurturing Programme. Using their knowledge and experience, they have developed and written a ran

ge of parenting courses for Behaviour Matters. They deliver parenting workshops in schools and provide one-to-one parenting support. They are also trained in the use of Restorative Approaches to behaviour management and were inspired by the positive effects this approach can have on relationships within school communities. Together they have developed a package of training materials for schools around positive behaviour management, which includes Restorative Approaches, Peer Mediation, Managing Behaviour in the classroom/playground, as well as Attachment Awareness. Leanne is also a qualified teacher and Becky has many years experience as a facilitator training school staff.

Another group of year 5 Peer Mediators completed their training on Wednesday morning at Poverest Primary School. I realised that we've been training Peer Mediators at Poverest since 2017 - that's 108 children trained and out there in the world with fantastic listening skills, great empathy and the ability to resolve conflicts; well done and thank you, Paul Haylock

The final Peer Mediator training session of this academic year at Rockmount Primary School yesterday. Two groups of VERY enthusiastic, and capable, Peer Mediators completed their training at Belvedere Junior School (The Pioneer Academy) yesterday. I loved over-hearing one of them saying to his classmate, as he headed back to class, "I'm over the moon!" I look forward to seeing them for their refresher session in September.
