Great team effort on yesterday’s Skye Explorer Hiking tour. It’s a real pleasure taking our visitors off-the-beaten track to get a slice of Skye all to ourselves.

We have really been blown away at the reviews we have been receiving recently👏! Andrew and Murdoch are doing an absolutely sterling job, and have had over 200 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ reviews on TripAdvisor and Google this season already. Reviews make it all worthwhile for us, and we thought we’d share a few quirky quotes which have really made us smile 🤣🤪!!

Have you seen our new buses (or ‘'luxury mini-coaches", to give them their correct name!).

These beauties were purpose built for us by Ilesbus in Turkey and are stunning inside and out.

This picture is our ‘Skye Bridge Bus’ but look out for the ‘Eilean Donan Castle Bus’ too! They’ll both be on Skye today, along with our 16-seater.

Give us a wave if you see us (I’ll be driving our grey Mercedes so a little harder to spot!)

P.S - still places available on today’s Skye Explorer tour with Gordon and the Ultimate Isle of Skye tour with Andrew! Just book online or turn up at 15 Union Street and we’ll get you on!

On a wee jaunt to Nethy Bridge today we were delighted to see that Roy Castle has been restored and is open again (after being closed for over 11 years!). This Highland Coo (Murdo, apparently!) is a new and welcome attraction there. He was a friendly beast, but Kay was keeping her distance 🤣 Definitely worth popping in past if you are in the area 😄

When everyone is looking out for a green top and you’ve changed to blue! 😂

Had so much fun doing the Etape Loch Ness 2023. A baptism of fire as it was my first time on a roadbike!

Special thanks to everyone who came out to volunteer and also all the lovely spectators along the way.

Also, big shout to 42 Cycling for coming to the rescue on Friday night and building my new bike for me and Ticket To Ride for their great advice on what bike to get. If you are coming to the Highlands and want to get out cycling both these local companies are definitely worth checking out.

Looking forward to the 2024 Etape already 😁

First trip the Fairy Pools this year. Simply stunning!

P.S If you are considering visiting by car please note the road to the pools is in a diabolical condition. We passed two cars with flat tyres on the way there so it’s best avoided until it’s fixed unless you have very good clearance and good tyres too. We’re considering putting off-road tyres on the buses!

After a long winter hibernation Team WOW is raring to go and tours start tomorrow!

This is three quarters of this year's team.

At the left is former 'Greatest Tour Guide in the World' and one of Scotland's most successful ever tomato farmers, (seriously, ask him about it!) Rob Carr.

In the middle is the weakest link Gordon who was once beaten by the only tour guide not present in the photo (Andrew Jones) in a competition to find Scotland's best tour guide. There is not a day goes by where Andrew doesn't remind Gordon, or in fact anyone that will listen, of this fact! 😂 As well as beating all comers, Andrew is also a former professional American footballer and the Isle of Skye Highland Games tug-of-war champion.

Last, but not least, on the right of the photo is Kay. Despite once applying for, and being offered, a job tour guiding for a well-known rival company many years ago (the Wild and Sexy lot if you know who we are talking about, she would have fitted in perfectly 😂!) , she refuses to leave the office due to a little known prophecy by the Brahan Seer that predicts the demise of WOW the day she gets behind the wheel of a bus (her driving's not that bad so hopefully he just made a mistake!)

In addition we will have a few cameos from Donald Morrison of Outlander (cameo) fame. He played a very convincing dead person and die-hard fans will no doubt recognise him! If you get on a tour with him this year you are very lucky indeed (and we're sure he will let you know that this is the case!!)

So that's the line-up for this year. We'd love for you to join us if you haven't already done so!

If you have already travelled with us say hello in the comments box below. We love it when folk keep in touch!

By the way, there is still one place left on tomorrow's Ultimate Isle of Skye tour. Alternatively, you may wish to join Gordon on our first every Skye Explorer tour on Thursday where we go hiking at the Fairy Pools, the Old Man of Storr and the Quiraing!

Unfortunately after switching all of our summer departures to pick-up from Union Street, we are now urgently seeking a new departure point as the city centre literally goes green to accommodate a new bowling facility. The Earl of Inverness will be opening the new facility next week followed by a finger buffet at Pizza Express.

Union Street is to be turned into a bowling green! 😲

The Highland Council has secured £100,000 worth of funding from the Bowls Scotland to convert Union Street into a tournament standard bowling green.

When asked for comment, council spokesperson Archie Skelp said:

"To be honest, we didn't think anyone would notice. Bowls Scotland were splashing the cash looking for new bowling greens, so we thought we'd fire in and get some of that sweet, sweet funding for random city centre projects that no one wants.
That's kinda our whole vibe these days.
Who knew there was money in bowls, eh?"
