Its been a lovely day and a great pleasure to show everyone the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds and our great National Trail.

This morning’s meeting point: the stunning Grade 1 listed St. Mary’s Church in Huggate. A huge thank you to the church for opening their doors to welcome our group. We’ll be back here post-hike for some well-deserved tea and cake. Isn’t it beautiful? 🏞️🍰

Today we’re exploring the stunning Yorkshire Wolds Way, with its breathtaking dry chalk valleys and historic sites. What a way to enjoy the great outdoors together! 🌳

The gateway to the Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail 🥾

Most walkers start their exploration of the Yorkshire Wolds Way in the shadow of the mighty Humber Bridge. The first three miles runs along the foreshore of the Humber estuary, proving an easy going introduction to the trail.

Why not head there this weekend and enjoy the incredible views? https://loom.ly/bjvgATE

09/04/2024

Please be aware that we have reports in that recent very high tides on the Humber Estuary may make some of the Yorkshire Wolds Way on that stretch difficult. Certainly the high tide route at North Ferriby is advised for use.

Spring is upon us and it will soon be time for cattle overwintered indoors, to be turned out, to enjoy the warmer weather and new grass.
Newly turned-out cattle can be a little excitable as they enjoy running, jostling and kicking their heels in the sun.
If you find yourself sharing a path with cattle, remember this simple advice to help keep you and the cattle safe.
◦ Always keep your dog close to your side on a lead but release immediately if chased by cattle.
◦ Cattle react to your presence, so move quietly and predictably to avoid any alarm.
◦ If there are cattle on or near the footpath, give them space and rejoin the footpath when safe to do so.

Look out for the photoposts on the Hessle Foreshore stretch!

Capture the coast! 📸

Four new photoposts have been installed on Hessle Foreshore, joining 26 posts already in situe along East Yorkshire’s coast.

The posts are a great way of capturing iconic locations, whilst helping to monitor coastal erosion.

The four newest additions follow the Wolds Way, taking in stunning views of the Humber Bridge and River Humber.

Have you taken any photos using the posts? We’d love to see them!

These Tea Light Holders made from old Yorkshire Wolds Way Fingerposts are lovely. Any funds raised from the sales are shared between the Trail and the Driffield Men In Sheds Group who did such a good job producing them.

We're delighted to have Yorkshire Wolds Way tea-lights holders back for sale.
These attractive tea-light holders are made from signposts that have been used and replaced on the Yorkshire Wolds Way. They're beautifully made by the Driffield Men in Sheds and the sale of each one raises funds to support the Yorkshire Wolds Way National Trail.
And of course they look lovey, and make a fabulous present for the trail-walker in your life. Even better, they're easy to wrap!
