I was privileged to be invited on the Designer Travel VIP tour this weekend of the beautiful Celebrity Apex, based out of Southampton this season.

We arrived at 9 am and started our tour in style with croissants and a Buck’s Fizz and an introduction to the ship.

We then visited The Retreat, the exclusive suite area, the Spa where you can enjoy a wide range of treatments, including teeth whitening! the ‘Magic Carpet’ (a moveable platform that changes it’s use from bar to restaurant to tender platform for when the ship can’t dock in port and my favourite, the Rooftop Gardens, greenery at sea and a lovely place for drinks and even trying out salsa dancing.

There are a wide selection of cabins and restaurants to choose from,the food is amazing and has an impressive theatre with nightly performances,a nightclub a very stylish Martini bar along with lovely indoor & outdoor pools,a casino,kids club and plenty of space.
It has a lovely atmosphere & you get the feeling of a small ship.

We then ended the tour with a delicious Japanese Banquet at Raw on 5,one of the speciality restaurants.

Celebrity Cruises are a personal favourite of mine and I loved this ship so much I ended up booking myself a cruise while onboard!

As many of you know, I had surgery two weeks ago and I actually didn’t think that I would be able to attend this event but with the help of the fabulous Celebrity team I tested out a wheelchair part of the way and crutches the rest, if you are disabled then it is so easy to get around,there are plenty of ramps and everywhere was accessible.

I will be posting some great offers next week and they offer some fabulous itineraries.

If you haven’t tried a cruise then give it a go. They are great value, you get to see many different destinations and if you are not sure then why not try it out with a 3 or 4 night mini cruise, or do a week cruise and a week stay in a hotel.

Last stop on my Costa del Sol trip is the beautiful city of Malaga. It is often overlooked as a city break but it shouldn’t be!
Things to do include bike tours, food tours, the castle, Picasso’s birthplace, the open top bus tour, good shopping, great restaurants,a beach and a brand new marina for an evening stroll.
I stayed at 2 hotels, one in the city centre and one by the beach.

The second part of my visit to the Costa del Sol is a stay at the 4 star Amare Marbella.
This adult recommend hotel is only a 5 minute walk to Marbella Old Town and has it’s own private beach club with DJ, rooftop bar and mini spa circuit
I will definitely visit again . The staff are all so friendly and the service is 5 star.
The only negative is those bathrooms in the bedrooms (loved by many hotels these days!)😂

MYKONOS - WHAT IS IT LIKE? The press is bursting with candid shots of celebrities from A to Z list,sunning themselves on this tiny Greek Island. But what is it like and should you book to go yourself? Wonder no more as I am here to give you the lowdown. THE BAD NEWS Firstly, it is not cheap! 😳The average cost for a beer is 10€,a main course 30€ & cocktails 15€ in a cheap restaurant in the town, double this for the beach clubs, 😳There are no All Inclusive Hotels 😳The island has up to 5 or 6 cruise ships docking per day which swells the visitor volume by around 20,000 people per day…. But apart from that I love this island WHAT TO DO 😳Beachclubs are the main pastime on the island so try a different one every day but make sure to book online as early as possible The most popular include Nammos , relaxing in the day then at 4pm crazy dancing begins…plus a designer shopping village to rival Bond Street ! Skorpios another ‘be seen ‘ club with great evening bands playing at sunset Pasaji chill out family friendly and sunbeds only 45€ each for the day Super Paradise relaxed with a great beach and fun dj tunes You can also take boat trips to the UNESCO islands of Delis and Rhenia plus nearby Naxos, Paros and Tinos. SUNSET Amazing sunsets, watch it go down while enjoying a pre dinner drink or take a sunset cruise and enjoy the glorious display. WHERE TO STAY with limited taxis (24 on the island) I would recommend Mykonos Town where the majority of restaurants and bars are located. This impossibly picturesque town is like somewhere out of a fairytale with its whitewashed buildings and cobbled streets makes a great base. THE WEATHER Mykonos is known as the isle of winds so if you don’t like to be sweaty then this weather is perfect . SO SHOULD YOU VISIT? Yes definitely, I for one can’t wait to return.
