Recently, ZBC News filmed at our Cowdray Park Health Centre in Zimbabwe. Local residents expressed their appreciation of the facility which is open 24 hours a day and provides all primary healthcare needs, making a big difference to the community.
Last week, the President of Ghana formally inaugurated our hospitals in Fomena and Kumawu. In a lavish ceremony attended by local Chiefs, Ministers and VIPs, the President praised the standard of the facilities. Crowds of hundreds of people gathered to watch the events which were broadcast on national television.
In Zimbabwe, ZBC have been touring our newly constructed hospitals. They broadcast this showing the health centre in Mataga.

Locals gathered with food to celebrate the site identification for a new health centre in Zaka, Zimbabwe. Up until now they had to travel 140km to the nearest hospital so this will make such a difference to them.
NMSI operates with a focus on “Rural Sustainability” and prides itself on supporting the communities in which it operates, engaging with local sub-contractors and training a young local workforce, mentored and supported by its UK offices. This is demonstrated in Zambia, whereby 99.8% of the workforce contracted were Zambian. Our engagement with the community is essential for long-term success and sustainability of our projects, by involving local contractors, we generate employment, training opportunities and transfer skills, positively impacting the local economy.
Zambian Health Facilities Programme - Solar Power
NMS Infrastructure is delivering 115 Mini Hospitals for the Zambian Government, in rural areas where there is often no access to mains electricity. As such, NMSI has designed and delivered off-grid facilities powered by solar photovoltaic array with a battery back-up storage system.
The delivery of this programme shows how innovative projects and design can contribute to the decarbonisation of energy across the African continent.

Construction of the 80-Bed District Hospital in Kazembe, delivered as part of the Zambian Healthcare Programme, is progressing well and is now 75% complete.
Providing modern surgical facilities with a wide array of state-of-the-art medical equipment, the hospital will make a significant contribution to the health and wellness of the region’s populace.

The new 80-bed Mfuwe District Hospital at Mambwe, Zambia has been completed and was handed over on 15 June 2023.
The event was attended by a delegation of regional heads, led by Provincial Health Director, Dr Mathews Ng’Ambi; Council Secretary, Lwawa A.K. John; AHEMO officer, Chishimba Mwansa; Provincial Infrastructure Officer, Wilson Chifwima; and Musonda Aubrey of the Department of Public Works and Infrastructure; with NMSI represented by Clerk of Works, Godfrey Tauseni and Biomedical Technician, Jonathan Chewe.

Takoradi Apartments, Ghana
All outstanding works on the Takoradi Apartments as part of the Built To Care Ghana Project have now been completed and the Taking Over Certificate was issued by the client on 8 June 2023.
Construction at the Fomena District Hospital site as part of the Built To Care Ghana project is nearing completion, with clinical set up of maternity and paediatric wards, consulting and treatment rooms, A&E, resuscitation, triage, theatre and recovery rooms all complete.

The structured funding agreement for the progression of NMSI's $210million Built to Care Zimbabwe Programme, for the delivery of five 60-bed District Hospitals and thirty 20-bed Health Centres, was the subject of a ZBC News Online report.

NMSI’s Built To Care Ghana Healthcare Programme is progressing well, with works at Takoradi Apartments 95% complete, Fomena District Hospital 88% complete and Kumawu District Hospital 66% complete.
Infrastructure Directorate and representatives from the Ministry of Health carried out inspections at all three sites and agreed that the project is progressing well and the completion dates are realistic.
