KEEP IT LOCAL!!!!!!
Don't pay for a companies advertising choices.

I'm sure you have seen this for yourself when when searching on the internet for a company to do you a service that at the top of the search page you can see the word Ad to the top left corner next to a company advertising the service you require. To get to the top of the first page of Google requires the company to pay and they can pay £1000's per month to be there.
That cost has to be met by someone AKA YOU!!!!

Secondly, I am seeing a lot of companies advertising there various services and looking like they are LOCAL when they aren't. These nationals will advertise in every town in the country and generally contact local companies offering work. You the end user will be paying the middle man and the local guy, otherwise known as double bubble.

PLEASE KEEP IT LOCAL FOLKS.

Please take the time to read this article it may save you from an unscrupulous person depositing your waste in our beautiful countryside.
Steps to take.
Make sure the person/company is licensed as a waste carrier.
Make sure to get a duty of care note with the address of the person taking your waste, their vehicle registration and their waste carriers license number. This should have written on it the address where the waste has come from and the commercial tip it is going to.
If you fail to show proper duty of care you could get fined.

This is something I see far too much off in my line of work.

***** PLEASE SHARE !! *****

I am a GP. This medication was left behind by a UK NHS patient who moved away. It was returned by a relative.

It includes nearly £1000 of diabetic items, £100 of nasal sprays and much more. All unused. All wasted.

The cost of this pile would pay for an NHS nurse for almost one MONTH.

The NHS cannot survive this abuse. But this keeps happening OFTEN.

If you do not want to take some of your meds, please tell your General Practice.

If you are receiving an excess, please tell your Practice.

Please do not waste medication.

(If you are uncertain about a medication, seek advice. This post is advice to adults only. The patient was not at my practice.)

Waste Duty of Care
General Duty of Care
Anyone who produces, imports, keeps, stores, transports, treats or disposes of waste must take all reasonable steps to ensure that waste is managed properly. This duty of care is imposed under section 34 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990. It also applies to anyone who acts as a broker and has control of waste. A breach of the duty of care could lead to an unlimited fine if convicted in the Magistrates Court or in the Crown Court.

Household Duty of Care
Householders must ensure that household waste is properly disposed of. Household waste is defined in section 75(5) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 and includes waste from domestic properties, caravans and residential homes. The householder duty of care is provided by Section 34(2A) of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 (inserted by the Household Waste Duty of Care Regulations 2005). A breach of the household duty of care would also attract an unlimited fine if convicted.

Steps to take to fulfil the duty of care
General Duty of Care
If you have waste:

Ensure that the person who takes control of your waste is licensed to do so.
You must take steps to prevent it from escaping from your control.
Store it safely and securely.
Prevent it from causing environmental pollution or harming anyone.
Describe the waste in writing and prepare a transfer note if you intend to pass the waste on to someone else.
If you collect waste from others:

You must be authorised under the law to collect and receive waste.
Get a description of the collected waste in writing.
Complete and retain a transfer note.
Household Duty of Care
If you are a householder, you are required to take reasonable steps to check that people removing waste from your premises are authorised to do so.

Reasonable steps to take:

Ask the waste carrier to provide you with their full address and telephone number.
Ask to see their waste carrier licence issued by the Environment Agency or Natural Resources Wales.
Contact the Environment Agency directly on 08708 506 506 and ask for a free instant Waste Carrier Validation Check, alternatively you can check online on the Environment Agency website.

Another recent example of environmental hooliganism. Make sure to use a company licensed as a waste carrier and always obtain a duty of care note ( fly tippers generally won’t know what your talking about ) it should have the details of the company taking your waste, your address and where it’s taken to on it. Take there vehicle Reg number.
We have our vehicle registration number on ours.
You are responsible for the waste removed from your home or business and can be liable for a £5000 fine if your waste is dumped illegally.
PLEASE be careful, it’s our beautiful countryside that’s having illegal waste dumped on it EVERYDAY!!

Get in Test Valley so pleased to see this news

I'm pleased to report that Test Valley Borough Council were yesterday successful in prosecuting two fly tippers who dumped their rubbish within the borough.

Mark Francis Day was ordered by the court to pay £1,332 in fines and costs for rubbish that he dumped in Longparish. He had been employed following a social media conversation where he agreed to take household rubbish away for someone but dumped it in the countryside instead.

Ian Jolley was ordered to pay £1,628 in fines and costs for flytipping waste in Charlton from his gardening business.

Both now have criminal records.

After seeing someone else locally having the distressing problem of paying someone to remove their rubbish then finding out it had been flytipped here are some tips to hopefully stop this happening again

1;If they are talking about tip times closing around 3/3.30 be wary, trade waste sites are open normal working hours from around 7.30 am till 5/5.30 pm,some open Saturday mornings most don't and they are not open on a Sunday

2;No one you pay to take away your rubbish can take it to the public transfer station/dump/tip/recycling centre they HAVE to use a commercial site, there is a Minimum Charge of around £150 a tonne plus vat to dispose

3;Always ask to see a waste carrier Licence, take down the number and take down their number plate (if your rubbish is then found flytipped you have protected yourself from upto 5k in fines by doing this simple thing)

4; Use this site to check if their business is registered to carry waste https://www.wastecarriersregistration.service.gov.uk/registrations/search
be wary though there are plenty of registered waste carriers who have done prison time for still choosing to flytip (see dump costs number 2; to understand ) to protect yourself from fines see 3;

5:Anyone that removes waste from your home including Builders,Gardeners,Carpet Fitters and House Clearance Companies Must have a waste carrier Licence

6;Yes traders (people with vans) can get 12 tickets a year to use the recycling centre's but its for their own waste NOT trade waste, trade waste is anything you are being paid to remove

7;At the local weighbridge site for Andover it costs £40+vat to dispose of fridge's and Freezers,so when you see people collecting for free be wary.a lot of the local scrap dealers cant take fridges and freezers either,so anyone after your scrap metal is going to get around £30 to £50 a tonne for it BUT your fridge or freezer is going to be flytipped unless they are charging you the correct amount for disposal

Lets wage war on flytippers together :)

Here's another lovely review we received for one of last weeks clearances. We do take pride in our work and understand that times such as these can be very stressful for the family.

My husband and I can't recommend Tony and his two men team highly enough. We rang them up and they went out of their way to arrange the time and day that we needed as we did not live locally and had a very limited time in the area. They kept their word about the time of arrival, time it would take and worked extremely hard and fast. They did a most efficient, quick and careful removal of everything even taking great care to put covers on the floor to save the light coloured carpets. It was a most distressing time for us losing a loved one but they carried it all out discreetly and quietly but with a warm smile and kind words.

Here's a lovely review from a guy we did a job for recently. He had moved to Burma to work with the red cross and had 2 large shipping containers. We bought a number of items, disposed of some rubbish and moved a number of items from one container into the other. He now has only the cost of one container. I do enjoy sorting out problems for people be it clearing a loved ones property or as we do quite often reducing someones costs in keeping items that are no longer required.

I engaged the services of Tony Rice to help me conduct a complex move of my belongings in Andover. Some to be retained, some to be sold, and some to be disposed of: decisions to be made. I was hugely impressed by Tony's professionalism, integrity and sense of purpose. He gave me what I considered to be a very fair price for my items; he worked hard to move the kit to be retained, and he gave me what I considered to be very good advice. He did not delay and the job was done well within time. All this conducted with a smile on his face. I would absolutely recommend him to a prospective mover: he turned what was going to be a painful event into a very straightforward and ultimately painless - even enjoyable - process.

Yesterday's clearance response from another happy customer.
It I isn't just about earning a wage, we do like to give a good service especially as a lot of our customers are dealing with a
bereavement .

Hi Tony

Spooky - I was just about to email you! I have only just had a chance to pop over to my Mum’s house and have just got back home. You have done a fantastic job - thank you so much. It has been such a pleasure dealing with you. it is obviously a very stressful time for me, having lost my Mum, but you have handled everything very professionally and very efficiently and have made the whole process so stress free for me. . I really appreciate what a good job you have done.

As soon as you have the google link sorted I will do a review.

Thanks again for dealing with everything so well. I will make a payment this evening to your bank account.

Best regards

Jill
