🇱🇰 SRI LANKA 🇱🇰
Train Rides & Game Drives
Sri Lanka is a destination that features on many peoples wish list and for good reason. Beautiful beachfront hotels, incredible wildlife and an island steeped in cultural history. But……. most people don't know where to start in putting an itinerary together to get the most out this amazing country.
As a Travel Counsellor and Trusted Travel Advisor, this is what we’re best at, creating itineraries that are unique to you to get the most from your trip for those
Here’s just an example itinerary of what’s possible.
Day 1 - You’ll be met at the airport by your private driver/guide and driven east to the once capital of Sri Lanka, Kandy and check in to your hotel.
Day 2 - A day in Kandy with maybe a visit the Temple of the Tooth (a Buddhist temple that house the relic of the tooth of the Buddha) or a walking tour of what is considered the cultural capital of the island.
Day 3 - Embark on a scenic train ride to Ella, high in Sri Lanka’s tea country. This picturesque six-hour journey is utterly rewarding, winding through misty forests, verdant tea plantations, over gushing waterfalls and streams, and past colourful towns and excitable locals.
Day 4 - After some local sightseeing in Ella your driver will take you along Sri Lanka’s south coast to Yala. After freshening up at your hotel you then embark on a late afternoon game drive through Yala National Park home to leopards, elephants, crocodiles as well as hundreds of bird species.
Day 5 - Today you drive south to Bentota and en route visit one of the many turtle hatcheries dotted along the coast ending the day relaxing on the beach or more sightseeing in town.
After that the choice is yours. There are many luxury beach resorts along the south coast where you’ll want for nothing. Don’t forget that the Maldives is only a 90 minute flight from Sri Lanka so you could tick off a desert island paradise from your bucket list too!
As with all my itineraries this can be tailor made exactly to you, you just need to get in touch.
