Our Story
Sparkling seas, golden sands, rugged cliffs, picturesque harbours and fascinating countryside await the visitor to Jersey. A welcoming island that offers the best of Britain with the added zest of France. The largest and most southerly of the Channel Islands but still only 45 square miles, Jersey is situated on the edge of the Gulf Stream, 100 hundred miles south of England and 14 miles from France. The island slopes from north to south to face the sun and boasts the best sunshine record in the British Isles and a climate which is generally more mild in all seasons than the UK. Jersey's visitors will find, without exception, that they dine extremely well! The standard of cuisine, liberally sprinkled with Jersey specialities, is excellent. As in most islands, sea food lovers will be in their element, but there is a choice to suit every taste. Other attractions include swimming, scuba diving, wind surfing and other water sports for lovers of the sea; golfing, horse riding, cycling and walking that can be energetic or as leisurely as preferred. The traffic-free shopping precinct in St Helier, the island's capital, makes shopping a real pleasure. In a nutshell, all the ingredients for a perfect holiday are so near at hand offering a complete change of scene with accommodation to suit all tastes and all pockets. It's just like going abroad but without the bother of passports, visas, inoculations, foreign currency - yet with good familiar food and drinks, and your regular morning newspaper at the breakfast table. Not bad for a little island!
