What a lovely place Mawella beach is, hardly anyone around. It’s only a 40 minute flight from Colombo or a 2.30 drive from the country’s main airport. Difficult to find a better bay in the whole of Sri Lanka.

Economy bunkbeds - would you try it out?
Air New Zealand unveils world’s first economy bunkbeds on its ultra long haul flights from NZ to the US.
It’s a six-pod configured sleep zone in between economy and premium economy and it’s thought passengers will be able to book a bed for a 4 hour period. Launching Sep 2024.

We usually have the option to reserve your flights, so you don’t need to worry about prices going up. . 3. Travel off peak. Go during the shoulder season, this refers to the months and weeks before or after the summer peak. Traditionally, good deals can be had in March and June and also September and October. . 4. Leave midweek. Flights are cheaper on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. . 5. Choose your destination wisely. Get more bang for your buck if you travel to countries with weaker currencies.
