Our loft style studio in the heart of Sunny Stoke Fleming, Devon has had a last minute cancellation, so if you fancy a 1, 2 or 3 night weekend away from today drop us a line!
Stoke Fleming has a wonderful village pub, The Green Dragon, Kendricks Restaurant, Blackpool Sands is only 1 minute drive down the hill & it has a well stocked Village Shop.

March is inbound Spring is definitely coming… & here’s what is going on at one of our favourite Bars in Dartmouth…

MAD MARCH INCOMING!

And just like that, March is nearly here! February thankfully flew past and now we will start to see the awakening of spring and hopefully revitalising energy for all! In March Winter finally holds back and Spring pulls forward with lengthening days & evenings, it’s a time for coming out of hibernation, the anticipation of vibrant times ahead, and definitely time to plan some fun evenings out with family & friends!

We've got so much planned over the coming weeks at The Sail Loft Dartmouth, and we kick off March on Friday 1st with LIVE MUSIC with Rob Hunt and Pizza Night at The Sail Loft. So come on down for a great evening, and remember you can pre-book tables up in our 1st Floor LOUNGE for Pizzas & Fries.

We are CLOSED on Saturday 2nd March for a Private Event, but the good news is we will be opening on Thursdays again in March, starting 7th March, with our inaugural BINGO NIGHT!! We can't wait, it's going to be a lot of fun with some truly amazing prizes!

There will be more LIVE MUSIC with Giles Nuttall and Pizzas on Friday 8th March, and on Saturday 9th our doors open at 2pm for Six Nations 2024 - Italy vs Scotland followed by England vs Ireland being shown Live on our Big Screen. It is also our GUEST CHEF NIGHT - PIE & MASH NIGHT with Ben Handley. Coincidentally it is National Pie Week and you have a choice of Chuck Steak, Onion & Devon Dumpling Ale Pie or Roast Pumpkin, Spinach and Pine Nut Pie, both served with Mash, Minted Peas & Onion Gravy for only £15 - an absolute Bargain!!

Thursday 14th March sees the return of our popular Thursday Night Steak Night with The Cellar Door. Booking in advance is essential. Please go to our website to book. Friday 15th is LIVE MUSIC with Jack Benjamin & Pizzas, and Saturday 16th is the Six Nations Finale with all 3 matches being shown, Wales vs Italy, Ireland vs Scotland & France vs England. Doors open at 2pm.

Friday 22nd it's Pizza Night & Live Music Night with the incredibly talented Giles Nuttall. (Saturday 23rd we are CLOSED for a Private Event).

Finally Friday 29th March we have Open Mic Night with Giles Nuttall and Saturday 30th March is our Guest Chef Easter Special with Jake Bridgwood. Full details are on our website and listed in our Events.

February is another tough month to get through...
It is getting a bit warmer so doesn't really feel like winter, but most certainly isn't yet spring, you never know how many days there are (29 this year for those who are wondering as it is a Leap Year) and no-one really knows how to spell February... ;-)

So why not just get away for a few days, get a change of scene, go for some big coastal walks, swim in the sea, have an early drink in the pub & a Fish & Chip supper, and if you WFH you don't even need to book any holiday to do this!

Goodbye Working from Home, Hello Working from Holiday!

With working from "home" now the norm, the reality is that it also allows us to work remotely from anywhere in the world! So why not have a workcation in Devon, a perfect place for a work from home holiday!

We may have a much slower pace of life down here in the South Hams, but we still have fast WiFi in all of our Coastal Retreats properties, a great working environment, and then spectacular scenery to enjoy before, during and after work. Once the workday is over, you can head out for a big walk to explore, go for a cold water swim & sauna at our local beach, Blackpool Sands, a 10 minute walk down the hill, or pop into our local pub The Green Dragon or Kendricks Stoke Fleming restaurant for some delicious food & drink, all without using any annual leave!

One of our fave Bar’s in Dartmouth re-opens it’s doors this February after it’s Annual Winter Break, we for one can’t wait to go back!

As the month of January FINALLY comes to an end, we have been busy working hard behind the scenes at The Sail Loft Dartmouth cleaning, planning, & Sarah has also been doing a little bit of shopping, but Rupert has only allowed her to purchase some new candles this year!

We are looking forward to opening our doors up to all our wonderful customers again on Friday 9th February, and it is going to be a February full of fun! We have some great live music lined up for you on our FRIDAY MUSIC NIGHTS, including Lost Natives, Jack Benjamin, Giles Nuttall, & Rob Hunt, along with our delicious Pizzas & Seasoned Fries being served from 5.30-8.30pm (tables can be booked in our 1st floor LOUNGE, but sorry no dogs allowed up there).

The 2024 Guinness Men's Six Nations Rugby Championship also gets underway with the Saturday afternoon matches being screened Live on our Big Screen from Saturday 10th February.

Saturdays also see the return of GUEST CHEF NIGHTS at the Loft. Saturday 10th February we welcome back the hugely talented Dan & Charlie from The Cellar Door with their Thai Inspired Night, and on Saturday 24th February Jake Bridgwood returns with what we know will be an incredibly popular Seafood Special, so book early via our website to avoid disappointment.

March is going to be a busy one too, with the return of our famous Thursday Steak Nights, more fabulous singers on Live Music Fridays, and the perfect combination of Rugby, Pizzas and even a Pie & Mash Night with Ben Handley on Saturdays. Great news! Beautiful Blackpool Sands reopens to dogs again next week. But lets make sure we coean up after our four-legged friends. 🙏🏼🐾🌊

Beginning 1st October, your beloved furry friends are welcome back to Blackpool Sands! 🏖️

To make your visit even more convenient, we've got you covered with free dog poo bags available on-site. 🐾 Let's keep our beach clean and enjoyable for everyone!

BATHING WATER STATUS AT WARFLEET CREEK

We are working with Friends Of The Dart to establish Bathing Water Status at Warfleet Creek.

Achieving Bathing Water Status means there will be increased monitoring at Warfleet Creek and is a commitment to increase and maintain the water quality of our river.

As part of the application process, we need to count 100 people bathing or paddling at Warfleet Creek on 2 days before the end of September.

The first day we will be counting on is Monday 28th August (bank holiday Monday) from 2pm until 6:30pm.

The second day is Sunday 10th September where we will be counting from 12pm until 4pm.

We will need to take some “distance” photos as evidence but will ask first.

If you are swimming out of those times but on the 28th August or 10th September, please log your Warfleet activity by following this link and completing the short form

We are so excited that Dartmouth Outdoor Pool is re-opening its doors for the summer from this Saturday 27th May. It is such a wonderful resource for the town open to locals and visitors alike.

Dartmouth Outdoor Pool is 25 metre by 8.5 metresand is heated to a heavenly 28 degrees Celsius. It is open from the end of May to early September and it is staffed by fully qualified lifeguards
who are there to ensure that your experience of the pool is safe and enjoyable at all times. Booking in advance is recommended.

DATE FOR 2023 MOVED

After very careful deliberation, consideration to all, meetings and a resounding majority committee vote, the dates for the entirely free Dart Music Festival in 2023 are now 19/20/21 May.

We are sorry to move the dates for this one off, momentous occasion, but are, of course, delighted that our town and the whole of the UK will have a fabulous Coronation weekend to enjoy…with a fantastic music packed weekend in Dartmouth 2 weeks later.
