Juniper Cottage is a former quarry-man's home dating from 1860 in Chapel Stile, it has beautiful views of Lingmoor and the Langdale Pikes, which we consider the heart of the Lake District.

It is a two storey terraced property sleeping four in two bedrooms. Downstairs is the lounge, beyond which is a separate dining area both with log burners and a fully- equipped kitchen.

We have some short breaks available at the end of this month so you can come to enjoy this beautiful part of the world for a few days- then maybe come back later in the summer for a full holiday!

If you've driven or even tried to walk Hardknott or Wrynose you will know what the riders have to contend with this Sunday.
The fastest riders come in around 6 hours but even experienced sportive riders are still coming in at around 11 hours.
If you are in the Lakes this weekend watch out for the road closures and bring your cow bells to give them some encouragement.

The Gate House, believed to date back to the 17th century, traditional Grade II* listed Lakeland house with three reception rooms. It has a wealth of surprises and original features including exposed stone flags and exposed beams and floorboards. The spice cupboard in the living room dates from 1680 and a concealed priest hole in the wall between the kitchen and the dining room. The house is reputed to have been part of the dowry to Catherine of Braganza for her marriage to King Charles II.
