Did you know being in a green space for just 5mins can help regulate your emotions
How to still lift weights safely over 50💪
It’s no secret that as we get older it takes sooooooo much longer for us to recover from exercise and also from injuries and whilst it’s super important to still lift weights as we get older due to the benefits of having stronger bones and muscles to offset osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, we need to adapt and listen to our bodies.
So how can you lift weights safety 🤔
1. Start light and build up. Even if it’s a couple of tins of tomatoes.
2. Mix it up - don’t constantly keep lifting weights. Try some body weight exercises too eg press ups or a plank
3. If you are injured - rest that area and rehab. Yes it’s a pain and it takes time but
you have to think longevity 🤷♀️. There are no shortcuts to recovering from injuries I’m afraid 🤷♀️ but you can still work other areas of your body safely. 👍
4. Rest between sessions and stretch. It helps you stay injury free.
5. Be consistent. Don’t start and stop. 🤷♀️ Weight training is hugely beneficial and you don’t have to lift heavy weights to get the benefits either 💪
This little session is a quick leg workout. So grab a tin of tomatoes in each hand and just do 8-10 reps of each exercise twice through. Don’t forget to stretch afterwards 👍
If you need to get fitter for health reasons - send me a message and let’s get your health and fitness back on track 👏👏
Breathwork
Spending 5mins a day of breathwork can make such a huge difference.
I try to be mindful on my dog walks with Kai but am guilty of not sitting enough and just being. Although I do it with clients all the time, I never seem to make enough time for myself.
So today after our long walk we sat for just 5mins whilst I did some breathing and gratitude work. Just that 5mins alone made me feel more connected, my head clearer and much calmer.
Round of applause for Kai too. For a 2yr old it’s hard to sit still but he’s learning. 🐕🦺👏👏👏👏👏
Do you do any breathwork ?
Foraging
I love blackberry season. So does Kai apparently. 🤷♀️🙏🐕🦺
Mindful walks that just keep on giving 🙌🙌🙌
Walk & Talk Therapy
I absolutely love the outdoors and have seen firsthand the benefits of teaching fitness outside over the past decade. Naturally, it makes sense to extend my therapeutic practice to outdoor settings as well.
For years, I was stuck in the corporate world, either driving to pointless meetings or sitting behind a laptop indoors. I never accessed any outdoor space, which led to depression and burnout. This changed when I got Lonzo, my first dog, and my outdoor world opened up.
Many of my clients spend most of their time indoors, so getting them outside and into nature can significantly improve their mental health by reducing anxiety, depression, and stress. Plus, they get the added benefits of exercise. It’s truly a win-win situation.
Bootcamp
Saturday mornings look a little like this followed by our tea and cake in the cafe

Be kind to your mind. The same way you are kind to your body do the same to your mind🙏.
Year 1 complete ✅
Year 1 Complete ✅
I had my final lecture last week and I’m finally done with year 1.
It's been quite a journey, filled with continuous learning and reflection. They say the first year is about deconstruction, followed by reconstruction. I can definitely say I feel deconstructed.
In the past, feeling broken and lost would leave me adrift, but this time, I have the insights and understanding to navigate it.
Knowledge is crucial, but holding a mirror up to myself and being truly honest has been challenging. To be honest, it's been brutal.
I've realised that my behaviours are driven by the fear of shame, and I'm learning to sit with that feeling and accept it, even though it's tough.🩷🩷
With Year 1 behind me, I'm reflecting on my journey, embracing both the highs and lows, and looking forward to a well-deserved summer break before diving back into assignments in September for Year 2.👏👏
In the meantime, how beautiful does Greenwich look in the sunshine 🌞🌞

Balancing life
I sometimes feel like this 🤣
Trying to balance everything in life is a challenge and sometimes you fall off your path and struggle to get back on it. Sound familiar 🤷♀️
I deffo feel like this at times and asking for help was such a big thing for me. Admitting I couldn’t do it all myself was so hard but as soon as I let go of the reins and became vulnerable things started changing.
Your mental health is just as, if not more, important than your physical health. You are worth it ! 💙🩷
