We are preparing our 2022 trips. Expect various trips to: Lake District (including Helvellyn & Scafell Pike); Peak District; Snowdonia; Brecon Beacons; Pembrokeshire; Dorset Jurrasic Coast; Cheddar Gorge; South Downs (including Seven Sisters); Ben Nevis; West Highland Way; Norway - updates will be on our website, facebook site; instagram and meetup

Hi Everyone

We have suspended the 2021 weekend away dates until we get clear instructions and guidelines from the government due to the current socialising restrictions, and to keep everyone safe. If we cannot run run weekend trips away because it will not be possible to social distance, we will plan to do some day-hikes during Sep - Dec. Hopefully we can venture to our National Parks early next year, we plan trips to Peak District, Snowdonia, Lake District, Dorset Jurassic Coast, Brecon Beacons, Pembrokeshire, etc

Hi everyone, for those new to hiking and those who have been hiking for years, I run London Adventure Group - we are based in London but we have members from all over UK, and the rest of the world, who join our trips in the UK National Parks (Snowdonia, Peak District, Dorset Jurassic Coast, Brecon Beacons, Pembrokeshire, South Downs, Exmoor, Lake District, Pembrokeshire, Gower, Cheddar Gorge) plus Scotland (West Highland Way, Ben Nevis) and Norway etc. Please drop us an email and I can give you more details.

We are about to come out of covid hibernation! So will be launching days trips and weekend trips quite soon for anyone who is interested

If you want to start navigating with a map and compass, this is a good starter video. I recommend Ordnance Survey (OS) 1:25000 maps as a good learning map with excellent details of features and Silva Expedition 4 compass.

It is better to practice in a place/route you know to start and build your confidence in map reading and bearings.

Taking a compass bearing can be fiddly at first but is easy once you get the hang of it. Chris Townsend explains how to do it in this BMC TV video.

Hi Everyone: We hope to see you on the trail, or up the mountain as soon as we all can. In the meantime: It's up to all of us to slow the spread of COVID-19.

Everyone, including young and healthy people, should avoid large gatherings during this time. Stay up-to-date with public health guidelines from nhs.uk.

We will start trips again as soon as it is safe to do so for everyone .... look out for new events perhaps later in the summer.
