Summit of Ben Nevis. 5th June 2021.
A quick time-lapse video from the summit of Ben Nevis today. Initially showing people enjoying the summit trig point, and then a video of the North Face. It’s possible to see 2 climbers approaching the Eastern Traverse, and moving on to the snow of the ‘fallen block’ pitch.

I was involved in the #3peaktribute for The Outward Bound Trust UK - raising 3 flags on the day of the funeral of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
We were unbelievably fortunate with the weather - a little cloudy but near perfect conditions. The light winds on the summit turned out to be completely perfect for flying the flags. There were a few people around who were interested in what we were doing, and one team helped us with photos - thank you.

Ben Nevis climb on 28th July 2020 with Scarlet, Lizzie, Hannah & Craig
Hannah, Craig, Lizzie and Scarlett tackled Ben Nevis yesterday in some pretty tricky weather. Hannah and Scarlett battled on to get to the top, in driving rain, strong wind and windchill. Congratulations.
There were quite a few other people on the mountain in total. The early starters (not us) had a greater summit success rate than the later starting wave who encountered all of the rain and stronger wind. Many times we looked around and could not see any other people at all. A special feeling for July. I took a lot of winter gloves up the hill with me, and by the end I had a bag of soggy wet gloves to show for the day.

Hayley at the summit of Ben Nevis
A really great day yesterday walking up Ben Nevis with Colin, Lorna, Mary, Andy, Kate, Lilian and Hayley. Well done to the entire team. We had great dry weather going up. It was a touch windy at the top and then there was quite a bit of rain on the way down. The many highlights to the day include -
1. Seeing the determination of the team in achieving their success.
2. The way that the team supported each other.
3. The break in the clouds at the top revealing the entire North Face to us, for about 20 seconds.
4. The rainbow on the way down, just as the rain started.
5. The welcome commitee at the bottom, their smiles and welcome meant a lot - thank you.

A successful day on Ben Nevis for myself and Andy H yesterday, guiding Abdul, Sarah, Doug and Sheila. Unfortunately Shiela had to pull out of the walk at the half way lochan, which was a big shame, but the others continued through the rain to the summit. Congratulations to all 3 summiteers. There were long queues at the summit to get a photo at the trig point - the queues were about 25m long - so we all got our summit photos from other places.
Thank you to Andy H.

Paul climbed his first mountain today, via No.4 Gully on the North Face - his first day in crampons as well - a great day of firsts.
The North Face felt like winter again today, with a lot of rime and water ice building.
For the skiers - Blair was out skiing on the North Face today, No.2 and No.3.

A great successful day with Zarko and Rob, climbing to the top of Ben Nevis today, in a fast time - well done. Again today it was snowing on the mountain, and the wind chill was about minus 12 degrees. At a few points it was almost time to wear goggles again, to be able to see forwards, with the fresh snow being blown about.
