This is a very useful plant - #pollinators love it, we can eat the leaves and flowers, it's been used as a skin treatment and it helps stabilise dunes.
What a plant! Spot it with on our #AngusCoastalTours 💚
A #beaver taking one of its favourite foods, Sweet cicely, back to the lodge for mum beaver to feed on while she's nursing the kits.
The whole family pulls together when she is looking after the young kits and it is lovely to watch them working closely - they are definitely busy beavers at that time of year!
We have 2 places available on our tour tonight (Friday) - meeting near #Blairgowrie at 6.30pm. Join us for a wonderful evening of wildlife watching in #Perthshire! [email protected]
We were all amazed by the speed of this kit on tonight's #beaver safari. It was helped along by the current but it was still very impressive.
We had 2 #Kingfishers perching close by and flying up and down the river.
What bliss..even the rain was lovely!

The water levels are a lot higher with the recent rain and the #RiverTay looks beautiful!
Who can guess what this black beetle is? It's a voracious predator, has strong jaws and will give our fingers a nip if we get in the way.
Most have headed south I think but we had 12 screaming overhead this morning which was an unexpected treat 💚
Two #beavers swam past just a few metres away from us on our Wednesday safari. And we had 2 #Kingfishers perching close by too!
We enjoyed watching this #Osprey hunting over the #Tay at the weekend.
They won't be here for much longer so make the most of them! The same with the #Swifts - I saw two in #Blairgowrie today but it looks like most have headed south on their migration to Africa already.
Good luck, amazing birds. We will miss you 😍
It's not long until our wonderful swifts head south for their African migration.
Make the most of their last few days of screaming and let us know where you see them on the #swiftmapper.
A Common darter dragonfly soaking up the sun today in #Perthshire ❤️
A highlight of the trip - a young Bee eater at the entrance to its nest. We watched it being fed by its parent - they were eating dragonflies and smaller prey.
The adults were calling to each in their lovely burbling call which was so
beautiful!
Thanks to Christopher Francis for the video.
At the Spain-Portugal border over the Duoro valley we saw about 40 Alpine swifts!
They are much larger than Apus Apus, lighter brown, with a white underside. Their call is a bit like that of a bird of prey (I think) - you can hear it at the start of the video.
They nest in little nooks and crannies in cliffs and canyons like this one here in the Duoro Valley. What a sight!
Our guide estimates about 1000 Common swifts gather above town every morning. Sadly not a sight we see at home.
Other exciting birds yesterday included Bee eaters, Turtle doves, Hoopoe, Rock sparrow, Booted eagle and Short-toed eagle. And some groovy frogs 🐸
There were 3 #beavers on the very wet #BeaverCanoeSafari on the Tay last night.
Screaming away - there must be at least 200!
#Beaverjoy on our tour last night!
We had Dolphins, Puffins, Fulmars, cliff-nesting House martins, Stonechats and a Sedge warbler on our recent trip to Auchmithie. What an afternoon!
There were about 6 dolphins in the pod, at least 60 puffins in two rafts in the sea, plus they were zooming in and out of their nests with food for the chicks.
They aren't the easiest birds to count!
