We received this message and have pleasure sharing it:

Hey, thought I'd reach out and see if this is something you'd might like to share with the community.

I have been exploring the Peak for 5-6 years now, initially for rehabilitation and now for pleasure.

During those years I took up photography and captured many sunrises and sunsets all over the PDNP. Last month I decided to document my findings in a resource that hopefully people find it useful.

Let me know what you think :)

Kind regards
James

£400m fund to kick start a 'work from home revolution'. Google, Facebook and Apple are going to meet Karen Bradley. The SPDTA are going to write to her too. Maybe a few more rural voices will help make the point that we need better broadband everywhere. Accommodation providers bring in money from overseas, but are expected to market themselves on 2mbps or similar.
If you have a view on rural broadband that we can pass on to Karen, please add it here...

This event on Tuesday may be of interest to our members whose businesses are affected by Alton Towers. In previous years Alton Towers staff have been very open and approachable and a good opportunity to keep up to date. We will go and report back to members.

Alton Towers representatives will be at the White Hart Pub on Tuesday evening, to meet the village. Everyone welcome to voice any concerns.

Good to get the coverage of local Churnet Valley walk in The Times today.

The Times - the national one, not the Stunner - has today featured a walk in the Churnet Valley round Consall. Always a favourite, so a good choice. Is it picky to be disappointed that the accommodation suggestion is actually in Cheadle? Nothing wrong with Cheadle, it's just the walk is in Churnet Valley and we have plenty of award-winning accommodation here!

It is the Alton Towers fireworks spectacular this weekend. Scarefest seems to have been popular again this year. It will be interesting to hear if visitor numbers compare to other years.

Your views are required! We are being consulted by Destination Staffordshire who is carrying out a review of the DMP membership scheme – looking at what works well, what is less effective, and how it can be refined to improve the perceived value for money and benefits that membership brings.

The intention is to fine tune the offer, the message and the process of joining/renewing (they are not expecting to tear it up and start again), seeking to achieve greater levels of membership, connections with partners and re-enforcing the perception of Destination Staffordshire as the voice of the industry in the county.

The review and recommendations are focused 1) on the businesses, potential members and lapsed/ never-been members; and 2) how the relationship with local partners /intermediaries/ local schemes can be strengthened to add value and understanding.

If you have any thoughts that SPDTA should put forward please comment before Wednesday. Thanks.
