Infinite Travel was born in 2014, a time of limitless, infinite, carefree travel.
Unfortunately, over the past 18 months, travel has become unbearably finite.
Indeed, for a time, our skies were eerily empty. Now, we find ourselves tackling ever-changing lists and tests and hurdles, all before we even consider what is meant to be the joy of travel. Whilst we can be thankful for many surprisingly positive effects of the pandemic, many of us hope for a return to the new normal.
Travel is still not Infinite. There are currently less than 40 countries of the 195 countries on our amazingly diverse planet on the UK’s ‘green list’. According to Eurocontrol, air traffic isn’t expected to reach 2019 levels until 2024 at the earliest. Despite these finite restrictions, furlough is coming to an end for the travel industry. The industry has been over-looked, to put it mildly. As such, Infinite Travel is going to have to close it’s virtual doors for the foreseeable future.
I would like to thank my colleague Corinne for her tireless support and efforts for clients in attaining their refunds and rebookings throughout the pandemic. She’s been a great asset and I wish her every success in her future ventures. She is a positive, bubbly presence and any team would be lucky to have her. Please do reach out to Corinne if you have any job opportunities.
I’d also like to thank my parents for their never-ending support, advice and help with all manner of tasks throughout Infinite Travel’s journey. Hopefully now they can enjoy their retirement a little more!
To each and every client who booked through us, or even who got a quote, thank you for putting your trust in us and making the Infinite journey possible. Nothing would’ve been possible without you. All live bookings with future departure dates are in order and will continue to be managed by myself. When you look to book further trips, please get in touch and we’ll gladly pass you on to an agent we think would be best suited based on your requirements.
To everyone we’ve networked with, thank you for sharing your business, for interesting meetings, referrals and varied events. Keep at it, or don’t, if you don’t want to!
To all of the industry tour operators, tourist boards, suppliers, agencies, BDMs, delegates, promoters, hotel brands, awarding bodies, etc, thank you for all the knowledge you’ve shared with us and the incredible events, trips and experiences we’ve been lucky enough to enjoy, it has been a fascinating industry to be part of.
So it is with a lump in my throat I say thank you for the past seven plus years and farewell. I plan to work in the Alps this winter and then see where the wind takes me!
May travel be Infinite again very, very soon.
To infinity and beyond,
Emma
