Happy Christmas to all our guests.

It's 2 more sleeps before the castle is lit up once again for Christmas. After visiting, pop in and warm yourselves up by our open fire. Oh, and don't forget the mulled wine. 👀🎅🌲🍷

🏰✨ Well it looks like we are up against Picton Castle Gardens and Heatherton World of Activities for Best Attraction at this year’s Visit Pembrokeshire Croeso Awards! Sure, Picton might have an undercroft with a fabulous vaulted ceiling, and their Walled Garden is a wee bit bigger than ours. They may have a few more roofs, carpets, and curtains... but we all know it takes more than a fancy set of drapes to make a castle great!🤣 🛋️💁‍♂️
And yes, Heatherton is one of the busiest attractions in Pembrokeshire, with its go karts, bumper boats, zip line and archery range BUT was it ever home to genuine medieval longbow men who fought at the battle of Crecy?

…and does either have a legendary ghost ape? 🐵👻
.or a Tidal Mill?! ⚙️😉

Although it's been nice to see our competitors wishing each other good luck for this year's awards, we thought we'd lay down the challenge with a bit of fighting talk! It's in our blood, we can't help it! ⚔😂

We are, in all honesty, thrilled to be shortlisted alongside such worthy opponents. We look forward to donning our best tunics and raising a glass of mead together on awards night, may the best attraction win! 🏆 🤣

A pub in west Wales has achieved what is believed to be a UK first. The Old Point House on Angle, Pembrokeshire, has been awarded Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status for its Welsh Laverbread. Owner Jonathan Williams started gathering laverbread locally when he launched Café Môr, his award...

Catching up on editing backlog from the past month, the bluebells on Skomer are definitely past their best but a few weeks ago, they were absolutely lovely - here's a puffin portrait framed by some of the bluebell flowers

Did you know that the causeway near the Tidal Mill is Pembrokeshire’s ultimate crab-catching hotspot? 😲🦀

Swing by during high tide when the Millpond is full — you’ll be sure to catch a crustacean or two! All the crab-catching gear you could need is available from the Mill Shop, including ice creams 😋🍦

Beautiful at any time of the year! A must visit garden with a great cafe.

The heralds of spring are slowly arriving 🎉

Crocus are beginning to appear in the Cloister Garden and in the Alpinum Garden.

The crocus gets its name from the Latin word 'Crocatus' meaning bright, saffron yellow! Saffron, as you probably know, is a spice that is derived from one specific type of crocus – the Saffron Crocus. Not all crocus species produce saffron, but they are all similar in appearance and share the same scientific and common name.

There’s something special about these beguiling springtime flowers. Their cheerful presence reassures us that we're on the cusp of a bright new season.

Our Story

Castle View has been a much loved holiday cottage for over 30 years. Renovated from a dilapidated two up two down, it has been recently refurbished with a new kitchen. With a large grassed garden to the front and parking at the rear, it has a sunny little patio with views to the estuary, French Mill and Carew Castle. Children and dogs are made very welcome but it is also the perfect base in the National Park for “walkers & talkers” all year round. The cottage is very popular so book early to avoid disappointment.

We hope you will enjoy Castle View and Pembrokeshire Coast National Park as much as we do!
