Golden hour last night on Bruach na Frithe after a big day on our Cuillin Ridge Traverse.

We all love cute animal videos! Whilst teaching navigation at Torcastle today, I was not expecting to come across this little chappy on the path! He didn't hang around for long and took a dip back into the Lochy. A highlight of a dreich day! School of Adventure Studies UHI
Sometimes it's just nice to go for a big walk! Today, Eric and did just that (and we bagged 7 Munros in the process) on the excellent South Glenshiel Ridge. A West to East traverse gave us an extra 200m of ascent to do but this was rewarded as the ground got easier towards the end of the day and the easy walk out on the track was the perfect warm down. With 28km and over 2000m of ascent, it was indeed a nice big walk!

The top of the Great Tower on today's run. This has to be one of my favourite places- high on the mountain with just the fun of Tower Gap to look forward to.
It looked like it was going to be really busy on Tower Ridge today so I was glad to get up and down ahead of the crowds and in the relatively cool morning air!

Salomon Glencoe Skyline
I always enjoy working on the Glencoe Skyline and today was no exception. In position in Curved Ridge, the first runners made rapid progress up this classic scramble. A bit damp at times but some sun at others, inspirational performances by the competitors and always a pleasure to work alongside a top team of Association of Mountaineering Instructors members.

-A rematch with Tower Ridge-
The last time Stu and I were on Tower Ridge (and specifically Tower Gap!) we had heavy rain and thick mist. It couldn't have been more different today! T-shirt weather from car park to summit and back again. Despite a busy car park, we had the ridge to ourselves. What a brilliant day to be uo high!
