EXECUTIVE COACHING:
Influential leadership ensures team members perform at their best, focus on solutions rather than problems and improve productivity. However a recent survey highlighted that 18-26% of a leader's time is spent on managing difficult people. Therefore, if leadership skills are not effective, decision making delays, missed deadlines and worsening staff tenure can cost organisations

substantially in terms of key business drivers such as speed to market, customer satisfaction indices, sales targets and operational efficiency, as well as recruitment and management time. We work with managers to motivate and develop their teams to produce the maximum improvement in the most straightforward and cost effective way. This is achieved by enhancing leadership skills, by providing a supportive environment for management development and effective communication skills, all in line with the individual needs of today’s busy executives. Executive coaching for leadership skills and team development is available as complementary coaching to an Interim Management assignment, as standalone workshops and coaching programmes, or as one to one coaching. Workshops can all be tailored and cover areas such as Leadership Skills Development, effective communication skills, staff motivation and productivity/efficiency review skills. PERSONAL COACHING:
Everything you have experienced in life determines what you think, believe, feel and how you behave. These experiences can be positive or they can be inappropriate to personal success. However, you have all you need to succeed; you know your strengths and limitations, are naturally creative and have the capability to make the best choices for yourself. Using NLP and Time Line Therapy™ techniques, we can explore these to help achieve the goals strived for, or reduce pressure and stress. Through personal/life coaching these techniques can help a client improve:

* communication skills and/or presentation skills
* spelling
and help a client stop:
* smoking
* phobias and fears
* panic attacks/anxiety

Leaders can often talk more than listen, asking questions later. The members of your team have important information and thoughts to share. They may be eager to speak up, but will stop doing so if they feel they’re not being listening to.

Have you wondered how coaching, and specifically how I could help you and your team?

By way of introduction, I’ve been an Executive Coach for 14 years, following many (many!) years in senior leadership roles and management consultancy. I’m passionate about helping clients unlock their full potential and for leaders to create environments for people to feel more motivated, inspired, healthy and happy.

On a personal level, I’m an introvert (to some people’s surprise), and a self-confessed perfectionist who has suffered from imposter syndrome for most of my career. Accused of having a wicked sense of humour, I believe it’s important to find the joy in life and work. I have a passion for Latin & Ballroom dancing, and trying new hobbies and volunteer work to challenge myself.

I‘ve always been fascinated with people and why they do and say the things they do (hence my love of neuroscience). I believe my skill is in being able to pinpoint stress triggers and behaviours, and develop a client’s self-awareness that drives a more effective leader.

I’ve seen first-hand how poor management and leadership skills costs an organisation in productivity, creativity and customer service. It can also lead to employees who are stressed, under-developed, lack progression and demotivated enough to consider leaving the company.

The name of my company, Assiem, is based on the Italian word for “together” – this was because it was important for me that all my coaching is built on a solid working relationship of support and accountability.

My previous experience allows me to quickly get up to speed with your needs, while understanding the complexity of the environment you’re working in. A tailormade approach can combine traditional coaching methods with appropriate neuroscience and management tools.

Most of us have doubts at some stage in our career. These can come out as stress, procrastination, doubting our ability, feeling overwhelmed, not being able to switch off and relax, or thinking life is not how we thought it would (or could) be. This is not about your intellect, it’s about your mindset. And this is where coaching can make a significant difference.

Ever wondered about coaching and how it might help you and/or those in your team?

Coaching is a collaboration which focuses on future goals and supporting clients through their unique journey to self-awareness and discovery. A coach’s role is not to “fix” anyone or provide the solutions, but to empower clients to confidently find their own path to success.

“Assiem” is based on a word for “together” and the coaching approach is to listen and support clients as they find their individual steps towards desired goals.

How to improve your leadership? Self-awareness is key to understanding the impact you have on others.

I think this is one of the most important aspects of great leadership and the fundamental approach in my style of executive coaching. It helps to understand your strengths and how those strengths impact others. And also being fully aware of other behaviours impacting you and those you work with, such as how you act under pressure and stress.

Great leadership starts with knowing yourself. It starts with self-awareness – understanding your personal beliefs on what can and can’t be achieved, what motivates and drives you, the impact you have on others, what triggers your stress and how you then behave when stressed. If you don’t know how you tick, how can you appreciate similarities and differences in how others might tick?

We all have amazing strengths we rely on, and it’s important to keep developing and sharing them. But we also need to be aware of their impact on others.

One of my self-awareness coaching clients was surprised to find that their strengths could sometimes demotivate others who had a very different approach. With that knowledge, they were able to adapt their leadership and communication style to encourage and benefit from the diversity of their team.

One of our 5 biggest stresses is uncertainty.

It’s easy to get caught up in negative thoughts when we’re uncertain about the future or we fear the unknown. But rather than let these thoughts take over, try changing to the more hopeful thoughts of curiosity and intrigue.

As we know from experience, the majority of our worries never actually happen. It’s impressive how we can come up with what seems like hundreds of negative versions of what might happen!

Coaching sessions are a safe space to talk openly and honestly. If you’re lacking confidence, feeling self-doubt or being overly hard on yourself, you may also feel like you’re falling short of unrealistically high expectations. This drive to present a perfect front to others can be stressful in the long term.

It’s normal to feel a bit anxious when facing challenging situations, but if lacking confidence interferes with your ability to reach your full potential, it’s definitely worth looking at in more detail.

In one-to-one coaching sessions we look at your unique goals and can then determine beliefs, negative emotions, negative self-talk and stress triggers which could be holding you back. Let’s be kind to ourselves and others

Our web of thoughts can feel complicated, frustrating, stressful. Although we are the only ones who can control your inner thoughts and feelings it doesn't mean that you have to bear everything alone.

We are exposed to a multitude of stimuli every day. So, finding a balance in our mind is essential in dealing with all the challenges we face. There are a number of ways you can try including meditation, an exercise you enjoy, listening to your favourite uplifting songs, going for a walk in nature, journalling, and of course talking with someone you trust (whether that’s family, friends, colleagues or one of the wonderful charities like Samaritans and Mind).

World Heart Day aims to increase awareness of cardiovascular diseases and how to control them to negate their global impact. Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the most common cause of death globally, with an estimated 17m people dying from CVD every year.
