📢 An important note about APPROPRIATE WALKING KIT 📢

In winter conditions it's more vital than ever that everyone on a walk has suitable kit - particularly boots, waterproofs, warm but breathable layers, hat, gloves, no denim, plus a headtorch if specified in the walk description. There are other things to think about too, such as enough food and drinks to sustain you through the day. Always check the walk description for any additional requirements.

If you're new to MAD Walkers or thinking of trying us out, we want you to get off to the best start possible so please take a look at this page of our website which tells you what sort of kit you need: https://www.madwalkers.org.uk/walks/b4walking/ You can also check out our pinned Insta post for advice and handy links to other pages of our website that are useful for new walkers.

Please do heed the advice given to make sure you stay safe and enjoy your walks with us. Please also keep in mind that walk leaders can choose to not allow people to join a walk if they can see that someone is likely to struggle, e.g. because of inappropriate footware. This is why we encourage everyone to consider what kit they need for a walk before leaving home.

But don't be put off! You don't need lots of complicated and expensive kit just to go for a walk, you just need to put a bit of thought and planning into it 🧐🥾🧤

See you out there!
