Today is Pancake Day or Mardi Gras but here are some more unusual versions from around the world...
In Denmark they celebrate Fastenlavn and 'kick the cat out of the barrel' - luckily this is a pinata than an actual cat 😼🇩🇰
In Lithuania their celebration of Uzgavenes sounds a lot like Hallowe'en, with witches, and devils 👹🧙♀️ making an appearance. Plus they get to eat 12 meals in one day as preparation! 🇱🇹
I particularly like the name 'Sprengidagur' – Explosion day - from Iceland. Unsurprisingly it involves eating a lot of food until you feel like you're going to explode - in this case a meat and lentil soup. 🇮🇸
I am stupidly excited about this!!🤩I've just booked a Tahitian cruise with Windstar Cruises for this November to finish off my own trip to Japan and New Zealand in style.
Genuinely cannot wait having had an opportunity to experience this incredibly special style of small-ship cruising last year.

Today is International Reducing CO2 Emissions Day - I know how important it is to avoid the greenwashing and I'm always looking at ways to make your travel more sustainable; whether that's swapping domestic flights for train journeys, choosing airlines with newer planes or using hotels with certificated waste reduction programmes.
It might not be the sexiest part of travel but we all know how important it is.
It's World Snow Day! For those of you who know me, I genuinely can't think of anything worse than strapping one or two bits of carbon fibre to my feet and chucking myself off a mountain but don't let that stop you 🤣🤣 ⛷🏂

I got lucky enough to spend 10 nights on a fabulous Windstar Cruise last year and can't recommend them highly enough.

I would apologise for another long video but it was an incredible experience. If you look carefully you can see we were surrounded by dolphins, at least 50 of them, and some of them were particularly acrobatic as you'll see at the end!
