I design needleworker’s accessories for you to stitch in canvaswork using lovely colour combinations in silks and stranded cottons, richly-hued crewel embroidery, upholstered embroidery frames and lots of unusual sewing tools and trinkets. The embroideries are all available as kits with everything in the package for an interesting and individual project perfectly suited to those quiet moments in

life that are stolen from the day to day hustle or maybe to fill a quiet time while you are on holiday.

I shall be at the Knitting and Stitching Show in Harrogate Nov 16th - 19th. The last show of the year for me and always one I look forward to. It is in the Centre of town and a trip to Betty’s for tea is a must. Why not make a weekend of it?

I haven’t put my prices up in ages, years actually, but I’m afraid the time has come - we all know why so I won’t go on about that! This will coincide with the show at the beginning of August. I thought I would warn you all before so you can benefit from the old prices and also I have a selection of discontinued kits as in the picture and I will include one in each order as a free gift. If you would like a particular one let me know in the comments on your order and I will do my best. These are as new and were only discontinued due to lack of space. TICKETS ALL GONE - sorry
March is here and I’m back to the shows soon and looking forward to seeing you all again, it has been snowing today and I’m hoping that is winter having its last fling before I set off!
I will be at the NEC Sewing for Pleasure in the Fashion and Embroidery section next week (March 16-19) and then Craft 4Crafters at Westpoint, Exeter (March 29 - April 1). I do have some complimentary tickets for Exeter - if you would like one or a pair message me your name and address and I’ll pop them in the post for you. First come first served!

I post a picture of these wonderfully happy daffodils every year, they are always in bloom on New Year’s Day on the village green just down the road. They are very early but give such hope for Springtime on the way. In the meantime, we have dark and gloomy January and February to wade through, I know the days are getting longer but it doesn’t feel like it yet but think of all those cosy evenings with some stitching before you feel that you have to get out in the garden!

My new hip is very successful (thank you so much for all the good wishes) and I am working on my diary and planning shows for this year which are listed on my website (www.SueHawkins.com) and I am so looking forward to seeing you all somewhere – I will have new designs to show you.

As many of you know I have been having hip problems and am due a hip replacement operation. Very sadly it has meant that I haven’t been able to be at the shows that I usually attend, this includes The Knitting and Stitching Show at Harrogate that is on now. I am so sad not to be there but rest assured that I will be back next year, you will find me dancing in the aisles!

Many of you know that I am out of action this Autumn as far as the shows go due to needing hip replacement surgery that I am nearly due for. But I have decided to be at The Big Textile Show this coming weekend at Leicester Racecourse. It’s only on for two days and is smaller than Ally Pally and Harrogate and I think I can hobble around well enough to be there. Take a look at the website - it sounds fab to me and I’d love to see you there.

NEWS FLASH
I can’t believe that The Knitting and Stitching Show at Alexandra Palace starts this week and I won’t be there! Some of you know that I have been struggling with bad hips and I am about to have hip replacement surgery and so Ally Pally wasn’t possible for me this year - I think I have been at the show for at least the last twenty years without a break. Unfortunately the same will apply to the Harrogate Show too. I love the shows and will miss everybody dreadfully but I hope next year to be dancing in the aisles again! So please spread the word that I haven’t retired or gone out of business - just going into the pits for a bit of maintenance!
