F u n / amongst the fynbos. This happy family is just back from a stay , a private nature reserve where ancient forest rolls down to the sea, overlooking the sweep of Walker Bay in South Africa’s stunning Western Cape. The boys highly recommend the fat biking! 🚴 💪 🇿🇦

P o s t c a r d / from a guest just back from Namibia, Part Two 🇳🇦. “Inland and east to Damaraland. I think Onduli Lodge was my favourite. Lying in a cosy comfy bed under the stars, looking up at the inky black starry African night was unforgettable. I loved my room with its spectacular views and again the staff were so friendly. The rock engravings at Twyfelfontein were incredible and then travelling far to find desert elephants and giraffe. Of course the sunsets always leave one speechless, as do the sunrises. I love that dead quiet, the heat, the stillness of everything.

Last stop Etosha and Ongava. More was seen of the big game in the private reserve and after hours of bumpy roads the real reward came to us whilst comfortably having dinner - black rhino followed by a herd of elephant came to the lodge’s waterhole

P o s t c a r d / from Namibia, Part One 🇳🇦. “Now I know why so many people rave about Namibia. It is staggeringly beautiful and I’m so pleased I’ve now seen it for myself.

Sossusvlei was incredible. Climbing Big Daddy and then running straight down with my guide Thank-You was such an awesome experience. Sossusvlei Desert Lodge was just gorgeous and I was so pleased to have my own private pool that I plunged into frequently to abate the intense heat. Beautiful accommodation and good food. Wonderful views from my bedroom.

Onwards on a little single piloted, vintage Cessna over the red dunes of the infamous Sossusvlei dune corridor. Then up along the endless stretch of the Skeleton coast spying the many seal colonies en route and the pink flamingoes. There were two Cessnas flying the same route and it was a great excuse for the two young pilots to fly in formation. It was awesome and we all had so much fun.

The Skeleton Coast was a complete change from Sossusvlei. Cooler temperatures, the gorgeous stretch of sand and ocean and a quirky but lovely very comfortable beach ‘shack’ in Shipwreck Lodge. Hardly! It had everything. A lovely and memorable bbq on the beach here…

Another wonderful airplane flight over the huge expanse that’s Namibia. It really felt like the only way to see this vast, arid, beautiful land. Driving thousands of miles often with nothing to see did not appeal. By air I felt that so much was gained in understanding the hugeness of the country. And its diverse scenery.”

P o s t c a r d from / Bamurru Plains in Australia’s Top End. “The accommodation was great and reminded us of the best we experienced in Zambia. The staff were delightful. The woman in charge, Jo, was exceptionally professional. Our Lord’s Safari guide took us out on the floodplains the Bamurru Plains accommodation looks over. It was fun to go out and wonderful to see the bird life (and occasional croc) amongst the grasses and in the old paperbark swamps on the edge of the flood plain. The buffalo and horses from the farm wade out for a long way into this area and are very picturesque.”

Azura Mozambique was lovely too - absolutely no complaints- staff were all incredible, setting was gorgeous and our little private pool was all the children could have wished for!” Thank you for being excellent as ever and and there’s lots more goodness awaiting these clients and !
