What a hard weekend with the driving and only having a short time to get the engine rebuilt from snetterton but the steelmate team managing to pull out all the stops to getting it done for myself to ride the girl this weekend while doing our full time jobs .
We got off with a terrible start with some issues with the bike so we hardly managed to get any laps together and not racing the zx6 at knockhill before we never manage to get any settings to run in the race
I like to thank the Steelmate team Kevin Fiona , Jamie Mark,Lee,Dave, Michael who all who never stop working there socks off this weekend for me (sorry if I missed anyone)
In the race we manage to get a reasonable start to slowly take some time off each lap getting quicker and quicker until I made a mistake and crashed out of the race so I thought I add a picture of the Steelmate zx6r before the race

On a better note I like to congratulate the bosses Mr and Mrs Kay on there marriage👰🏽🤵🏼💒............Congratulations🥂🍾 ..

Big thanks again to our sponsors

Finally had time to sit down after a long weekend and reflect.

Started off both of the Free practice sessions going pretty well finding a few small issues with the bike that needed to be ironed out as the bike wasn’t behaving in a way which made it easy to ride. After making a few small changes in the pits and between the sessions I managed to find a few seconds of my lap time putting us in a comfortable position. The team and I wasn’t worried too much about lap times within the practice sessions I was just enjoying the bike pushing at a comfortable pace setting it up ready for the qualifying on Saturday.

On the Saturday was qualifying and we left the bike exactly the same as it come off in FP2 as I found the most confidence in the front with this and felt I could push harder within this set up. I wasted some time after coming back out on track from the pits after a rider behind me was trying to follow so could only unlock the pace after I got rid of them by having to pretend to go into the pits and staying out on track. With one lap left I managed to do so and was able to find another 2 seconds of the FP2 time which was good however was hoping to go maybe a second or two faster.

Sunday morning, 8 minute-warmup didn’t go to plan. Completing about two laps before the black flags came out with the number 4 on forcing a retirement from the rest of the day meaning I missed the race which I felt was gonna be a good one. Maybe a blessing in disguise seeing some of the riders antics out on track. Maybe take the blame rather than blaming the bike 🤷🏽‍♂️

We go again if the bikes sorted in two weeks would just like to say a big thanks to the sponsors which make it all happen. Steelmate racing, FPRS drainage, Helmet city, New Era scaffolding, Shark Helmet, port Haynes & Havoc Racing
