Iota Panel Systems Ltd was founded as a limited company in May 2004, and is run by the husband and wife team of Stuart and Susan MacKelvie. Stuart MacKelvie (Dip SM) has over 20 years experience working in the timber frame housebuilding industry. Experience in estimating, design, fabrication and er****on with the timber frame manufacturer Kildonan Homes from 1993, was followed by the position of D
esign Manager with the same company from 1999 to 2002. This was followed by Design Management positions at International Timber and Muir Timber Systems before Iota Panel Systems was founded in 2004. Susan MacKelvie (BSc) graduated with a degree in Architecture from Dundee University in 1993. Positions demanding Architectural talent as well as timber frame knowledge with Eden Homes, John White Architects, Kildonan Homes and Century homes were followed by over four years with Stirling Council in their Architect’s department, until joining Iota Panel Systems in 2005. Iota Panel Systems started out as a specialist design contractor providing timber frame manufacturing and construction drawings to timber frame manufacturers, builders and developers. The company has formed strong working relationships with several companies, both large and small, including Morrison Construction, Torwood Timber Systems, Ochil Timber Products, Goodwood Timber Homes and Karlin Timber Frame. Over the years the company has been involved in a wide spectrum of work including social housing, schools, hospitals and all kinds of residential housing. Iota Panel Systems has also used this unique position as an independent designer, and it’s strong relationship with several manufacturers, to supply innovative and cost effective timber frame kit packages. The company has supplied everything from small extensions for self builders, to several blocks of flats for large developers. Iota Panel Systems also specialises in providing a very personal design and supply service to self builders. The company can guide clients through the whole process, from providing Architectural drawings for Planning and Building Warrant applications, through supplying the timber frame house kit, to project managing the complete build process.
